If the slipstream did complete without any errors, then it should be ok normally...

Different computer with different CPU speed might do things sometimes faster or slower at times so it seriously depends.

Well Thanks alot, this's a good tutorial.

So, this's my problem. I have a compaq cq40-320, and when i try to install windows xp via boot appear a blue window with this error "stop: 0x0000007b (0xF79E0524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)" (i'd not seen even the interface were you can select with f6 another driver for ur hardrive).

Here's some information:

Chipset AMD M780G
ATI™ Mobility Radeon™ HD 3200
AMD Sempron SI-42 (2.1GHz, 512KB L2 Cache)
hardrive (samsumg) 160 GB Serial ATA (5400 rpm)

What shall i do?

Thanks advice.

@edited

That hapen even with the original windows xp pro cd.

May i know what version of XP setup you're using? I've seen a few cases like yours when they are using XP SP3 but it seems ok with the older ones. This is due to a certain driver conflict in the setup that crashes if i'm not mistaken.

shocking.gif I see a spainish user? laugh.gif

You pressed F6 and it blue screen-ed before loading the driver even?

You are going to use the floppy method i presume?

If it ends with the same error i think its probably same cause, driver conflict as before. Because after you pressed F6, device driver are still loaded until the end before showing you the screen to actually load the driver.

Do you have any extra things plugged into your laptop at this point of time? Maybe you want to unplug everything for now...

It is not the driver for the harddisk you are looking for but rather the southbridge RAID driver.

I still don't know what method you are using after all this while. Why not you try giving the floppy method a try first and tell me the outcome and see if it works for you.

Here is the driver for your chipset:

Thanks for reply biggrin.gif

Well were using the Slipsteam method. Also i can't use the floppy method cos i dont have the usb floppy. But i downloaded the driver and i'd slipstreamed it using the nLitle but i still get a problem with it cos on the install send me an error saying "AmdIde.sys" is corrupt so i downloaded the file again, doing the same process but it still said me the same. So maybe i need to edit the driver or something like that?

The good new after all this while is: the install get the driver needed to start the full installation.

Well thanks!

1. what ver of winxppro is suggested? sp3 sp2? sp1?
2. between usb floppy method and driverpacks method which is safer?
3. from ur experience, can tell me roughly the successful rate of each
methods respectively? and the rate that results in damaging harddisk?

Added on March 15, 2009, 12:56 ami install on my compaq C793TU both xp pro sp2 and sp 3 , finally come out blue screen after the 30-40mins installing process (about to load the windows for the 1st time.).
