On behalf of Larian Kardio PPUM committee, I would like to invite LowYat.net members to participate in a a 5.5km charity run; which will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at 7:00am on the grounds of University Malaya, with more than 1,000 people expected to participate.

It is divided into corporate and public categories. The corporate category involves the 5.5km team race (5 members per team) and the challenging 1km CEO race that is open to upper management of corporations.

The public category is also using the 5.5km route.

Registration fees less operation costs will go to Tabung Larian Kardio PPUM.

Some Background on PPUM/UMMC
Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya (PPUM) is the premier teaching hospital in the country, providing leading-edge treatment to patients; and intensive training to medical students shaping them to be highly-skilled, compassionate members of the medical fraternity.

We believe and attempt to make the latest medical facilities and treatments available to everyone. However, in the treatment of cardiovascular disease, the most innovative and effective treatments, are also the most expensive, often beyond the reach of lower income patients, even after being heavily subsidised by the government and PPUM.

PPUM's Cardiology Department would like to invite your organisation to join the race to give underprivileged heart patients faster access to live-saving treatments, while educating the public on heart health. For this purpose the Cardiology Department has set up the 'Tabung Larian Kardio PPUM' and is organising the Larian Kardio PPUM 2007 and health awareness fair to raise much needed funds.

Donations to this charity fund are tax exempted.
