By the way if i were to connect to another pc, what should i buy? Cable? switcher or router? network card?

Depends on how you're connected to their service right now. Do they provide a HomePNA modem that comes with an Ethernet port? Or something else? If your PC is connected directly to their modem, what kind of IP configuration did you have to set on your PC?

Router, probably. But assuming that you didn't have to set anything special on your laptop (e.g. PPPoE) or static IP address, then maybe you could try a switch first. Did they ask you for your laptop's Ethernet MAC address? Personally, I'd be darn surprised if a switch works.

I think most probably switch will not work and they actually set up a ip for me. Router may work but i decided just buy an extension cable and would not use laptop and pc together. ( save the money as extension cable should be cheap ) Their ip settings include ip address, subnet mask, default gateway, primary DNS, secondary DNS and SMTP server icon_rolleyes.gif

hey there

how did you manage to subscribe in their service? i went to their website and among all the websites of all the ISPs here in Malaysia, their site is the shittiest, no contact info, java errors, and no package of whatsoever promotion!!! i even googled ( how to subscribe to mykris malaysia) and most of the results gave no specific info, whats hilarious is that the top results gave me a link to a topic here, something like (Mykriss the super duper shit)

can you please refer me how to get subscription? contact? anything?
i live in pelangi damansara condo, near to the curve and ikea, i dont know if they can reach me or not.

I am using IE 7 and the flash page looks fine to me blush.gif
This is the contact page ( click on the telephone icon on top left )
http://www.mykris.net/web/main.htm
Try to call them up and enquire. If you stay in Mont Kiara, you would definitely covered, i believe.

Hi All,

I've a customer who is using this mykris service at his condo. As I'm not very familiar with the service, and there is no info on the net that I can find, I wanted to ask if anybody has successfully used their service with a wireless router before?

My customer wants to share their internet throughout the house with a wireless router. Currently suggesting a Linksys WRT54GC, but I'm not sure how to configure it, or if it's possible.

Much thanks,
Kinson

I was previously using MyKris along with a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router.

Not sure if their modem units are still the same as I terminated the service 2 years ago.

The modem when plugged in directly to the PC, will assign an IP address dynamically to the PC. So if you were to connect the modem to the router.. just set the router to obtain an IP address automatically.

This is of course assuming they are still using the same sort of modem/configuration..

HTH

i jz went to their website, but to be honest, all i see and read is jz corp info. i mean, nothing very useful to us end users and people who are jz looking for an alternative to TMNet...

cant find any link to packages, service areas, cost...etc~

a very confusing website as so far i read is that they deal in wirless tech, and not wired. but got former users posted here that last time they used a WAN cable.

im seriously confused here, cuz if its wireless... i may not consider it cuz wireless is bad for gaming and P2P.
