DjiNn,

Hi how much do you sell for the PS3 40gb version?
*

Try PM-ing Djinn or call him directly. You can find his contact, here.

i am waiting for the 40gb version but does it include spiderman3 bd like the us version??

I think most shops in KL will be getting the Asian PS3's. Asian packages does not have the Spiderman 3 bundle and I think the bundle is exclusive for the North America and Canada 40gb PS3 release only.

QUOTE(skincladalien @ Nov 11 2007, 12:41 PM)
do remember that the ps2 games are region locked. ie US version of ps2 game wont work in SG/HK set.

For PS3 newcomer who owns PS2 games, do take note of what skincladalien wrote above.

So to be safe with the "region", I should go for a SG set? HK set? I'm quite set on 60GB version now since it's supposed to be the best for backward compatibility and seems to have exactly the same specs as 80GB. Which region are games locally available in? Any shops to recommend with a lot of PS3 games available? And er, any LowYat version games?

SG and HK are the same. Both are Asian PS3. Japanese PS2 games work on the Asian PS3 as well.

Shops usually take in the US version of games first then followed by the Asian version, depending on which is released internationally first.

Here are three shops that I know of, click on the name to go to the thread. Bernard, Keane, Djinn

And do check out the Console Couch's page. You can find a number of shop threads there.

And what do you mean by LowYat version? Pirated? PS3 is original all the way. And no pirate talks on this forum sweat.gif

Yep it's true. Games are costly but you can always choose games that you really want to play only. Don't have to buy all the games that come out. Or can try and look for 2nd hand copy. Or use your pocket money to buy it and starve yourself. laugh.gif Or get a part-time job. Or.. I don't know. I think there are a number of original gamers who sacrifice alot to fund their gaming needs. Like me laugh.gif

Thx for the infos muchii, i think im set on 60gb as well. and a sg model might be easier for warranty sake >_>
One more question, are the games price usually standard? if not what is the price range and where can them >_<
Oh! PS3 games are region free right? XD

Its a pity ps3 backward compatibility only supports original ps2 games... *regrets not supporting original in the first place* xD

Haha no prob. Btw, the official warranty might not work either because you are buying it outside of Singapore but nvm, I got a HK PS3. So if anything happens to both of us, I will be more kesian. But nothing much to worry about. Just want you to know the details. thumbup.gif

The prices of games varies from shop to shop. The range for Asian PS3 games is RM195-RM220. The US version range from RM210/220-RM250. This is just a rough estimation.

It's best to survey around for cheap prices thumbup.gif And try checking some of the thread at Console Couch. There are a few game shop threads there. thumbup.gif

Dang... just found out that the 40GB version doesn't have chrome finished... it looks a bit dull... but being at least RM250 cheaper, I don't think I need to complain that much.

Um let's put it this way.

US = imported version = more expensive

Asia = localized version = cheaper

Give me your PSN id after you set up your account, I just started building my friend list recently laugh.gif

You are getting the 60gb PS3 right?

Warranty wise, best to get SG PS3, nearer to go to if something happens and you want to try and get Sony to fix it.

Next question is, do you have original PS2 games? If you do, what version do you have?

US PS2 games only work on the US PS3.

Asian PS2 games could work on the Asia PS3 as well as the Japan PS3. Japan PS2 games are the same as Asian PS2 games.

Other than that, nothing much is different.

But the truth it guys, play your playstation2 games on Playstation2.

you save more money.

ordering a U/S version machine cost a bomb for the transport fee.
