QUOTE
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clears Sky August 29

Prequel to GSC Game World's postnuclear meltdown shooter Shadow of Chernobyl will be dropping its payload this summer.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, the follow-up to last year's S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, has officially been dated by the game's creator.

Developed by Ukraine-based GSC Game World, the PC title will ship worldwide on August 29. Set in 2011, Clear Sky takes place before the events of Shadow of Chernobyl, a first-person survival game that put gamers in the role of a mysterious amnesia-suffering scavenger trying to come to grips with the aftermath of Chernobyl's radioactive wasteland, complete with paranormal activity, mutant creatures, and competing scavengers--armed to the teeth, no less.

According to GSC Game World, "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky introduces an alternative look at the events of the original game and offers the player [the chance] to try himself out as a mercenary S.T.A.L.K.E.R. in search of his own path in the world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R."

For more on Clear Sky, check out GameSpot's previous coverage of the game, or head over to GSC Game World's official Web site.

No offense, but the graphics looks a bit dated.

Probably a good story and more interactive than before with so many different factions. Especially the part where we get to find out Strelok and his history.

I love this game because of the dynamic plots, unscripted AI, physics, and the gameplays... totally different from any games i have play before... (referring to SOC)

graphics is bonus... but if u comparing to Crysis, Crysis to overwhelmed i think...

loved the open-ended gameplay of Stalker. Crysis is just an overhyped marketing gimmick. It was good but not 9.5/10 good.

lol yeah. Eventhough the overall game engine, atmospheric elements and unscripted AI was great, the game was way too buggy during release. It took too many patches to improve gameplay, but the good thing is, it was easily mod-able and soon there were many independent mods available.

Hope the developers thoroughly test and debug Clear Sky before releasing it this time, even at the expense of a later release date.

You do realize, that's EXACTLY what they did with the first STALKER (Delayed it 3 years), and even then it was STILL riddled with bugs.

Asking East European developers to make a game with no bugs is like asking Bioware to make RPGs with no text biggrin.gif

I've recently restarted Stalker with my new system (Finally, loading doesn't take ages) and am hoping to finish it before Clear Sky hits, so any delays are ok for me tongue.gif

^ oh yeah. H@H@, my bad tongue.gif (no pun intended)
you should try some of the mods, they really make it more fun. But unfortunately most of them need you to start a new game

I think I'll hold back until I'm done at least once... I like to finish games unmodded. (Did the same with Oblivion)

I recommend the weapon mods. They make your weapons sound "OHHH... AHHHH" instead of "MEHHH... BLEHHH!".

I finished the original version 1.0 game several times, ya rather buggy but I just manage to find solutions to fix them (example:don't step into box container or something, get something to block the door, save frequently incase AI act weird...)

Chernobyl already very good, and I'm glad they remain the original interface design and game feel! Though I hope they make the inventory menu more click-sensitive... It kinda hassle to use when I'm in hot water...

Prequel... Let see who the bosss, increase the difficulty please! The MASTER level in Chernobyl still rather easy ....
