As usual, we gathered in the lobby in the morning and Visionary assisted us to get a cab to Funan Digital Mall for the Day 2 Competition. We were quite late because irenic couldn't wake up because of the VMOD on the VGA he did. He spent few hours to get it done.
Once we reached Funan, TEAM Singapore and TEAM Indonesia were the earliest setting up everything while irenic still moaning while walking. Our setup for the Day 2 setup was Dry Ice CPU Cooling with Shamino's Pot and Water Chilling on GPU. Thanks to Xu Gang who borrow us his Water Chilling for GPU from Day 1 Competition. Day 2 Competition was different. Both TEAM K.O.C 1 and K.O.C 2 combined and TEAM Malaysia. Therefore, i had some time to play with the camera. And the day was special cause we had a forumer came to cheer for us. kvmcom was with us cheering us for better results. Thanks for the support. Really appreaciate it. The scoring system for Day 2 Competition was tougher than Day 1. Each Country/Team was given 25 minutes to run a benchmark and the highest score attained will be summited. Points will be allocated accordingly that is, First = 5pts, Second = 3pts and Third = 2pts. From the start, TEAM K.O.C didn't put much faith of winning any points because seriously TEAM Singapore, China, Indonesia, Australia and Taiwan would definately tops the chart. We just tried to put out a fight for Super PI 4M Challenge as it was our team strongest benchmark among all benches. ![]() TEAM Singapore all ready for the challenge ![]() TEAM Indonesia getting started with Dry Ice Cooling ![]() TEAM Malaysia Setup ![]() Oh My!! What irenic did?? ![]() After our Team Leader, coolice gave some counselling, irenic stood quietly beside him ![]() But only after 10 minutes, irenic hand gatal again and messing up the CPU Pot ![]() Because most of the Team member didn't believe on irenic VMOD skill, therefore we asked Xu Gang to check the VMOD for us ![]() irenic looking at Xu Gang as if his skill is on par with World Class OverClockers, too bad that wasn't the truth This post has been edited by Sanko: Jul 15 2007, 09:03 PM |

After Day 2 Competition, all the teams were invited by SAOC Organiser for a dinner banquet in a Thai restaurant just next to Summer View Hotel. TEAM Malaysia, TEAM Singapore, TEAM Indonesia and TEAM Australia made it to the dinner. We had a great time there knowing each other more and sharing some OC Tips especialy TEAM Indonesia. Both TEAM Malaysia and TEAM Indonesia was very very close after the competition. But TEAM Malaysia wasn't sharing any tips, we only steal the tips as we don't have any OC Tips usefull.
![]() Group photo after the dinner, again irenic wants to steal time limelight, insisting standing in the middle pushing away Shamino. By the way, the first guy from left, first row is Benny Lodewijk if you all remember. |

Time: 3 PM - 9PM Location: Selayang, sup3rfly PC Shop Yesterday coolice just received his personal DI/LN2 Pot. Thanks to Hyde'fk for the effort producing the pot for coolice. Upon receiving the Pot, coolice and sup3rfly decided to run a Dry Ice Overclocking Operation as planned. A total of 12kg of dry ice was bought. After purchasing the dry ice, both of them headed to sup3rfly PC Shop in Selayang to perform the overclocking operation. The purpose of this 5Ghz Operation is very simple, we wanted to try K.O.C members proc whether which one is able to hit the 5GHz barrier under DI cooling. ![]() Coolice DI/LN2 Pot ![]() Inner Base ![]() ![]() Pot with insulation ![]() Jingting fit perfectly beside the Pot to cool the chipset ![]() OC Platform Overview ![]() Complete OC Platform with DMM ![]() ![]() ![]() Dry Ice added into the OC Platform This post has been edited by Sanko: Sep 17 2007, 02:24 AM |

Throughout the 5GHz Operation, sup3rfly and coolice managed to hit 4905MHz with one of the 5 procs. After that we tried further and we got 4959MHz. Our last try would be the best which is 4986MHz which is lack of just 14MHz to hit 5GHz. By time we finish it time is running out but there's still some Dry Ice left.

Since there is still some Dry Ice left, coolice decided to try a run again this morning (15-9-2007), and finally broke the 5GHz barrier.

Gigabyte K.O.C Overclocking Showcase/Clinic
Event: ENGITEX '08 Theme: Big Boys' Toy Location: International Islamic University Malaysia Venue: Banquet and Foyer CAC (Cultural Activity Centre) Date: 26th - 27th January 2008 Overclocking Showcase Time: 1000 - 1500 Overclocking Clinic Time: 1000 - 1600 Official Link: http://www.engitex08.com/ Official Media Sponsor: HardwareMAG Malaysia TEAM K.O.C was invited to perform an Overclocking Showcase and Overclocking Clinic sponsored by Gigabyte Asia in the annual Engineering Exhibition (ENGITEX '08) organised by the Engineering Sociery of International Islamic University of Malaysia. ENGITEX '08 was held in the IIUM Cultural Activity Centre on 24th-27th of January and TEAM K.O.C was only involved in the Overclocking Showcase on the 26th January and Overclocking Clinic on 27th January. The Overclocking Showcase is believed to be the first public LN2/Dry Ice Overclocking Showcase in Malaysia but it turned out to be a unlucky outing. With the help of our beloved forumer penapis, we are able to access Dry Ice and LN2 cooling with a cheap price. Penapis was actually given the task to manage and guide on the LN2 cooling process as he has vast experience on handling it. However, his leg was injured and it was inconvenient for him to help. But his morale support was tremendous. And he even treated TEAM K.O.C Big Mac for lunch. On 26th January 2008, when a lot of undergrades were waiting for the Overclocking Showcase, TEAM K.O.C was late. We only arrived at around 1130 because of the delay of filling up LN2 in MOX, Petaling Jaya. And once we got there, we quickly setup 2 overclocking rigs to start the show. Around 1300 when coolice and lolhalol were ready to fire up one of the rig, it booted straight away under Dry Ice cooling. When we thought everything was ready to rock, coolice restarted the rig and there was where the nightmare of the event started. From the start till the end TEAM K.O.C was like starting up the rig once and after restarting, no post. And there goes remounting pots process on and off to find the culprit of the problem. The whole day was only doing the same thing, trying to power up the rig and to bench but we failed. Tried both Dry Ice and LN2 but no help. Therefore the crowd started to get impatient and slowly the whole Overclocking Showcase was left only among ourselves. Only sup3rfly rig under Dry Ice cooling was able to post properly but it wasn't much time left for him to do a proper showcase. The whole we only has one result, CPU clocked to 5.14GHz. ![]() Everyone was waiting for TEAM K.O.C to get started ![]() irenic and lolhalol getting the setup ready ![]() ![]() coolice and lolhalol on the way installing the cpu pot ![]() sup3rfly appling vaseline as part of the insulation ![]() ![]() The rig ready for Dry Ice and LN2 action ![]() penapis looking at the rig running ready for extreme overclocking, but... ![]() lolhalol overclocking with LN2 ![]() As stated above, no post after restart |

![]() 5.04GHz screenie ![]() 5.14GHz done but after restart no post TEAM K.O.C left clueless after the Overclocking Showcase. Basically it turned out we had nothing to showcase on that day except for pouring LN2 showcase. Therefore we decided to get a quick dinner and figure out a way to amend it. We felt terribly sorry for ENGITEX '08 organiser especially Syafiq who invited us and our sponsor, Gigabyte Asia. We came to a conclusion to do a combine Overclocking Showcase and Overclocking Clinic the next day. So we settled in a budget hotel where Sanko stayed to continue benching in order to get ourselves ready. And the journey continues. We set a benchmark to achieve, concentrating Single Card 8800GTS record. Our benchmark was our fellow Singapore Top Overclocker Nightraven, hoping that we are able to get a score to his 8800GTS record. In the hotel, lolhalol and coolice redo the rig insulation while sup3rfly was in-charged of benching Gigabyte 8800GTS on a Gigabyte P35 DS3P Motherboard. The result was good but unfortunately we run out of Dry Ice. By the time we finish get readying ourselves for the second day, it was already 0500 in the morning. During the run-up in the hotel, sup3rfly managed to pull out a impressive score all by himself while others could not help it but to sleep. Looking at his score at that moment, we thought that we would achieve our goal in the second day exhibition as there was still room to push the vga. Therefore we took a nap and prepared for the second day event. Hoping to reach our goal. ![]() sup3rfly best run before run out of Dry Ice This post has been edited by Sanko: Feb 13 2008, 12:32 AM |

During the second day of the event, it did not turn out as what we wished. Yet another disappointment. TEAM K.O.C struggle to get the setup to run smoothly. sup3rfly rig encountered some problem to load into windows. But the Overclocking Clinic was a succuess i should say. irenic was handling the OC Clinic and he done a tremendous job on it. He guided some near 20 participants on overclocking various different setup. Most of the setups brought by the participants were in good shape but the only thing that drag them to push their overclock higher was their cooling devices. Almost all of them were using stock cooling. There was only rig that reach 90 degree after only tweaking the FSB.
After another day of disappointment, coolice decided to run countless benching to obtain at least one good result. Immediately after the event he and reggie continue benching with Dry Ice. They continue to bench sup3rfly setup as he has to work the next day. And finally coolice and reggie with the help from irenic managed to achieve a World Record. Kudos to them. Last but not least TEAM K.O.C would like to express our deepest regret to the failure of the ENGITEX '08 Gigabyte Overclocking Showcase due to lack of preparation. And also we would like to thank related parties for their greatest effort in helping TEAM K.O.C for this event. Also a special mention to Alex "sup3rfly" Tan for the processors, Tim "T_M" Marshal (Team.AU) for borrowing us some pots and to Benny of Gigabyte Indonesia for the advice on the motherboards. Special thanks to Shamino for giving TEAM K.O.C his WR Pot as an encouragement to achieve higher heights. Indeed it is our lucky pot. To those who we did not mention, a special thanks to you guys as well. You know who you are.

Bhd. was incorporated in 1994, as one of the leading Information Technology distribution company headquatered in its own building in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. Recently, ScanArt took part in the just concluded PIKOM PC Fair 2008 in KLCC on the 11th April to 13th April 2008. 3 TEAM K.O.C representative, coolice, sup3rfly and lolhalol was invited to perform a showcase of the upcoming hardwares ScanArt is distributing. We were delighted to be given such a honour. This showcase was a smooth one as we do not want the same thing happen like the previous event TEAM K.O.C did. Enough preparation is always the key. As TEAM K.O.C was involved mostly on extreme cooling previously, this time round we intend to do something different. We concentrate on water rather and dry ice or nitrogen. So 1 day on water cooling and 2 days of water chilling. So far the experience of water chilling is quite new in Malaysia OverClocking sence. And it was the first time we did a showcase with an AMD powered rig. So let the pictures do the talking.
