What I am trying to say is, X2 3600+, how many times faster in comparison?

- ATHLON AM2 X2 3800+
- CORSAIR PC667 DDR2 VS 1GB x2

Would Biostar 6100 be a good choice for mobo, if I were to have a dedicated GC?
If I'm not wrong, Biostar has a built-in VGA, should I be opting for another mobo?

Any recommendations for GC for budget RM250 - RM380?

X2 3600 Brisbane : 1.9GHz
X2 3800 Windsor : 2.0GHz
Cache : 512kbx2 (same)

so for me, the difference is barely noticeable..do u can tell how fast is P4 3.2GHz than P4 3.0GHz? smile.gif
i used both (3600 and 3800) before, and Brisbane is better for me since its cooler and very overclockable..and yes i didnt notice any difference so far..

Biostar 6100 is cheap, yet its good for budget oriented user..
at least with that price (around RM200), its the best mobo, better than MSI, Gigabyte and Asus in that range..

yes Biostar 6100 has an onboard graphic, i dun think it will cause a problem if u r using an independent graphic card right? at least ur pc still can be used without gc, but of course u need to sacrifice some space of ur ram.. smile.gif

for that budget, perhaps u can go for 7600 series..
if u can fork out up to RM500, go for 7900GS..
8series? dun take the card lower than 8600GT..

I'l looking in to buying a new pc, could you guys recommend me 1?

my budget is around 5.5k

the pc's gonna be used for heavy 3d, photoshop, illustrator, animation, video editing and also for a lot gaming.

i prefer intel, however, i can't decide which processor i should get, a quad core or dual core.

i'm willing to wait until july 22nd for the price drop on the processors,

also, i would prefer a 22'' screen smile.gif

any help would me much appreciated..

Skyrocketing eh? Consider pair up with VR and normal PSU, estimated can go around how high?

from my eperience of using more than 10 pieces of Corsair VS,90% of them stable @ 850MHz, (relabelled chipset),so that's mean the E21xx can oc to 3.0GHz no problem,if ur setup is less hardwares (1 hdd,1 dvdrom and 1 standard gc),normal psu will do.

My bro needs a computer for his college studies

The budget is RM2500
He will mostly be using it for assignments and stuff but not for graphics applications or games.
He doesnt mind whether its AMD or Intel just recommend something good that has good performance and good price and also user friendly.

Requests: (can recommend something better)

Asus motherboard (eying P5B if we take intel processor)
MSI or asus graphic card (mid range, eying Nvidia 8500 or 7000 series)
1gb Kingston RAM
Processor : Maybe a dual core processor (intel or amd)
WD HD 250gb Sata 2 16mb
Asus(or liteon,lg,pioneer) DVD player
Creative speakers (any)

btw, planning to buy XP not Vista

Thx alot guys!

bro,if the pc is for surfing and office work (assignment),i think a rm1k pc will do the jobs perfectly. nod.gif

perhaps LianLi made that design for a purpose of blowing out the hot air produced by graphic card.. smile.gif

but if we think logically, its quite 'bad' to suck out the fresh air that are supposed to be used to cool down the graphic card..

so, intake is better..at least we can cool our soundcard and mobo as well  tongue.gif

but if u look at it properly,he wans a quite good mobo and light gaming card from the hardware it mention.

to limjix:
if u wan good graphic card,it doesn't come from asus and MSI which mainly manufacture mobo.look for brands which mainly make GC not mobo.example:galaxy, winfast, gainward cardxpert,XFX, and many others.
if u wan good mobo, go for the P35 chipset series.965 is already outdate now.for ard 30 bucks like dat extra, y not go for a lil more advanced chipset.i suggest gigabyte P35-DS3.

actually if u only do assignments,Pentium Dual Core E 2140 also good enuf le.if i were u,i get 2Gb of RAM.coz now DDR2 price increasing.it will continue increase coz DDR3 is out.if u plan to upgrade, the cost will be higher in future.

to AceCombat:
tell me wat rig would u recommend for a budget of 1k with all the brands i stated above........and my bro wants this to kinda be a replacement for his old pentium 2 computer

To k!nex:
Well my dad really wants Asus mobo because it has served my bro and my computer for a long time and still no problem. And also i have been using MSI graphic card so i prefer to have the brands we have used before. Thx about the info on the processor and RAM. U sure RAM can increase the performance better than the processor?

so any more suggestions?
