if you're using DHCP, then you won't face this problem... check the network setting in your PC.... make sure the IP is not fixed manually.

go to network connections in control panel
under the local area connections right click and select properties
find the tcp/ip setting and click properties.
there you can see the ip address.
if yours is set to auto then choose the manual setting
then key in the no following the one that you wrote, but only change the last no. key in from 1-256 only.
after that all is done.
the dns just click and windows will auto set for you.
the gateway is for the router ip. usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1

Sounds like someone else in your network is not using auto IP and has selected an address that conflicts with one that is being assigned by your router.

Either everyone should use auto IPs, or at least those people who are not should ensure that they do not give themselves IPs in the same range that the DHCP server uses.

It seems like that IP 193.100.1.8 is used by some other networking devices already. So use other IPs allowed in your DHCP. Well, do you know the range of IPs that you set in the DHCP?? usually it'll be around 30~50 IP.

If you know the range (eg. 193.100.1.7~193.100.1.26). Then you can set your IP to any IP apart from the 'conflict' IP that you got now. E.g. you can use 193.100.1.10.

Hope this helps. smile.gif

The router should detect your IP before the router assign the IP to other pc as well..

you can disable DHCP in your router

You can't have 2 PC's having the same IP within a single subnet.

You have to be clear what is the ip address range in the subnet and the ip addresses that will be allocated by the router/dhcp server (automatically). If you want to assign a fix ip address to a pc, make sure the ip address is not within the range of the ip addresses to be allocated by the dhcp server to avoid ip address conflict in the future.
