Here's some tips from tweakguides.com rclxms.gif

GRAW 2 is first and foremost a strategic shooter, so it's important to understand and successfully utilize all the main features of the game if you want to enjoy the experience. It can be very confusing for new players to figure everything out. The first place to look is in the GRAW 2 manual which can be found in your game box as well as under your \Program Files\Ubisoft\Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2\Support\Manual directory. Below are some important tips you should keep in mind when playing the game:

# General Tactics: GRAW 2 is a tactical shooter. Tactics are paramount to surviving in, and enjoying, this game. You cannot run around like a regular deathmatch game shooting at everything that moves. Use your eyes, and more importantly your ears - stay still as often as possible and listen for approaching enemy; make less noise yourself by moving slowly wherever possible; use silenced weapons where possible; conserve your ammunition and grenades; if on Recon, look out for tagged enemy and approach them stealthily; try not to stay in the open too long. Play as though it were real life and you have a much better chance of winning.

# Identifying Enemies: If you see a blue diamond on a character, they are friendly teammates - do not shoot them under any circumstances. If you're playing as the Scrambler class, you may also see some teammates with pink diamonds; these are friendlies that have been tagged by the enemy (see below). Anyone else who does not have a diamond, or who has a red diamond tag, is an enemy - shoot them on sight.

# Tagging: This is a critical part of game strategy. A 'tag' is a red diamond which identifies enemy positions to your entire team, even when they can't directly see the enemy. To tag an enemy, you must be a Ghost (on the Recon team). Simply hold your aim over an enemy target and a red diamond will appear. The Sniper class are the best for quickly tagging enemies, and the Scout class can also tag an enemy through solid objects such as walls. Importantly, you can also tag the enemy (and earn points) after you die - click the Death Cam button at the bottom right of the screen, and click your middle mouse button once to get a 'free view' mode while viewing from live soldiers. Any enemy which fall under the round target on your screen will be automatically tagged for your teammates to see.

# Detagging: The Scrambler class on the non-Ghost (Rebel) team can detect tags which have been placed on friendlies, and remove them. These tags appear as pink rather than the normal blue diamonds. To remove a tag simply get close to the friendly, hold your aim over them and click the middle mouse button - they should go back to being a blue diamond, and the enemy will no longer see them as a red diamond. The presence of pink diamonds on your team also tells the Scrambler roughly where the enemy is (or has recently been).

# Objectives: Try to complete the objectives if playing in an objective-based game mode, like Recon vs. Assault, as this allows your teammates the opportunity to respawn when on Recon. Check your HUD for the objectives A, B, C and once you've found them, press your action key while next to them.

# Spawning: When joining a server, select your class and then wait to spawn. Depending on the game mode it may take a while to spawn, so be patient. You will only spawn if a spawn opportunity occurs, so pressing your mouse buttons or keys won't speed things up any more. If you can see a Death Cam button on the bottom right of the spawn screen, use it and help tag enemies for your team (See above).

# Weapons: Experiment with the various weapons to see which suits your particular style. Only reload your weapon when the bullets are running very low, as reloading loses all your remaining bullets in the magazine. In Recon vs. Assault mode you only get improved weapons as you are 'promoted'. In some other modes you can select your specific kit by pressing the small rectangles at the bottom of the class you wish to choose to alter the fitout. To see your available weapons at any time, press and hold the Weapon List key (default is F), and use your mouse wheel to scroll to another weapon. A note about grenades - the left mouse button throws an equipped grenade with full force, however the right mouse button lets you choose the throw strength.

# Misc. Tips: Your stance is very important in both determining your accuracy and your ability to see or be seen by the enemy. Going prone makes you less visible and gives you the best aim, but it also makes you a motionless target, which can be easier to hit. If you want to see if there are enemy in darkened corners or buildings, briefly use your Night Vision (N key) to check. If you're behind an obstacle such as a wall or fence and want to look up over it, or if you want to make sure you're standing up completely, use the V key. If you want an overview of the map and friendly positions, press the M key.

That's just a summary of the more important gameplay tips. Obviously much depends on your particular gameplay style, however GRAW 2 is not the same as the Battlefield series, or Quake or Unreal Tournament, or even America's Army. It has to be played on its own terms, and requires some patience, tactics and thought otherwise you will spend a lot of time waiting to respawn, which can be very frustrating, particularly on servers with limited numbers of available respawns.

Owh okay.

Let's say i initiate the tactical map and orders one of my unit to cover south. Do i need to execute?

When a unit under assault mode covering he fires at that location, is it random or if there is enemy there he will hit the enemy?

AFAIK, when you wan someone to cover that area, he will be shooting that area until you tell him to stop.

Thats if the unit is in assault mode right? Btw do they randomly shoot or do they aim for enemies that appear?

I started of with hardcore mode playing it slowly but finds that my units tend to lose out to AI easily.

How come my desktop don't have GRAW2 shortcut? It isn't even in my list of 'start>all programmes'.

To start GRAW2 i must execute it from my DVD Rom.

How do i command a unit to cover from behind an obstacles? Example stick to a wall and peek out and cover that area?

Try sending him there is recon mode instead of Assault...and send another guy to do some cross firing to help him out.

Anyone aware of any cheat codes or "safe" trainer to be used for the single player of this game? Can't seem to find it. Even the one from cheathappens won't work.

I just wanna have fun, not that I like to cheat.

I think you should play around with the modes available...its not easy to say now but different conditions result would be different.
For that scenario I just sent my buddy behind the wall. And if there is an enemy at that can fire at him from his angle, my buddy will still be shot even if he is behind a wall. Most of the time, the buddy will instead yell and shoot at the enemy also. Hence, get fired upon.

Its not so easy to control AI. Most of the time, if you are buddy dependent, you need to work as a team. If you need them to 'view' an area for you, then they risk getting shot at. 'Views' are mostly for drones.

But my strategy for the game is mostly I'm the 'man' ...the AI are just for backups and to cover me. I mostly leave them at a safe spot snipping the enemy..There also can be remote situations that the whole team get shot at in an open area by lots of troops. Well, its your strategy....and remember to quicksave every 5 minutes or so.

Well i tried and i found out how. I must send the unit to a location behind a wall. You know sometimes when you want to move a unit to a location the dot where he stands is fixed, example behind walls. Yup thats where i put them then i put the unit into assault mode.

When my unit is holding a non-silenced weapon and is in recon, when he engages enemy he doesn't shoot. Why is that so? Is it because he is not using a silenced weapon?

One more thing, when my unit is moving and get shot at he doesn't return fire. Is that normal?
