Can we improve this OSS community?
Yes we can but it need passion and curiousity

firstly, main website must be useful and updated. I believe, someone from MYOSS / OSDC can open public git for web theme etc.

secondly, if paid server use are too much and not fully use then, move to static website such as Jeklly. Integration with github or gitlab (nice for PR). Just need to manage domain name.

third, if you got extra server. Please host IRC-telegram bridge

Last not least, I hope some OSS otai read this thread and do some comeback. I will try to contribute and support the community

I was quite into it those days. Its hard to sustain a community when we don't have enough young blood. I mean most of the guys I used to be with had gotten married with kids, have new business ventures to run, etc.

My own life in built environment (town planning) is pretty taxing too. So to there is hoping in a uni someplace, there is a person or two spreading the word, I mean that is what helped got me into the Linux community at the first place. That and Freenode IRC.

Organisation wise, there's a few that involves community engagement

Disclaimer, I'm one the person behind Golang Malaysia, EngineersMY and DevKami. Was previously active in Python Malaysia, Sinar Project and participated foss.my 09.

In short, the local tech scene is very active.

If you're interested in picking up hosting MYOSS meetup, we're glad to give you guidance.
