GTX280? serious? not GTX260? AFAIK it's no where near GTX280.

i'll say there's 2 steps la.

sell the old technology while the value is still there. smile.gif or just keep it for now.

Added on September 5, 2008, 5:01 pm

aiyah like that should get those even lower energy usage card. smile.gif HD3650 or HD3450.

cos logically no point buying HD4850 if you don't play game often.

for me, i run GTX280 and 2x 9800GT at 100% 24 hrs - but i no idea what's the before and after of my electricity bill. never take note. tongue.gif

That's why i opt 4 HD4850 coz i'm in the middle of gaming n others.. Hope i can sell it once i came to its limitation.. Maybe want 2 upgrade 2 HD4870 later.. Just waiting for more non reference cards out then if only i had enuff of reviews then i'll decide.. Right now there's only 1 or 2 reviews on the HD4870 non-reference one.. I preferred Gainward HD4870 Golden Sample at 1st.. Then somehow i came across a review on Palit's Sonic version which is identical to GW's.. The very noisy fan n high power consumption really kept me from grabbing one..

dual monitor for what?

work or game? practically all cards out there support dual monitor these days. it just depends on your budget.

all you have to do is plug 1 monitor to 1st output, then another monitor on 2nd output.
*

Thanks goldfries for your reply. I need the dual monitor for work that is why. Since a long time didn't catch up with the hardwares.

Below are my specs I've come out with. Hopefully you can comment on it.

- Asus P5K/EPU
- E8400 (Or should I take E7200)
- Kingston 2GB (Or should I consider 2x1GB)
- Western Digital 320GB
- Haven't decide on the graphic card, too many of them out there.

One more question, with this kind of spec what type of Power Supply do I need?

Really thanks for your help.

Hi,

Need your expertise here, I'm looking forward to upgrade my current rig to a new one with budget below RM1,000. Hope I can ask here since I can't access your web. sad.gif

What I need to buy :
1 - motherboard (any brand)
2 - processor (prefer intel)
3 - ram (atleast can handle WoW)
4 - graphic card (atleast can handle WoW)
5 - power supply (if needed, have 560W at the moment)

Hope you can help me out.

Thanks in advance

looks fine.

i ask whether work or game cos dual-monitor for work, any card will do. best look for one with dual-DVI cos the output would be better.

for gaming, then your choice of card would be of a higher range.

just a decent 500w - 600w PSU would do. around RM 250 - 400 range i suppose.

what brand / model is your 560w now?

WoW is like what, 5 years old? smile.gif cheapest board, processor and 1GB RAM with cards like HD3650/HD3850 would do just fine.

1 - motherboard (any brand)
2 - processor (prefer intel)
3 - ram (atleast can handle WoW)
4 - graphic card (atleast can handle WoW)

HD3650 = RM 200
GIGABYTE G31M-S2L = RM 190
2GB DDR2 800 = RM 140
E5200 = RM 300

RM 830 only. so you can afford to get HD3850 for RM 330.

that'll make it RM 960. smile.gif more than powerful enough for WoW.

if you want low cost

HD3650 = RM 200
GIGABYTE G31M-S2L = RM 190
1GB DDR2 800 = RM 70
E1200 = RM 155

RM 615. smile.gif up to you.

If your new pc is not including monitor , i think the budget will fit a HD4870 .
