Hey...it isn't exactly easy to use alphabets to draw a triangle. Maybe i should've used <> instead.

At last I have found one reason for being proud to be a malaysian citizen. Enlighten me on something, though, since I am not in the know about these anime blogs and stuff... the writers of these blogs everyone thinks so much of, it's hard to imagine they have any influence at all on anything that happens in animeland. Just that it looks damn weird from the outside when they band together into a circlejerk club with lots of wannabe participants

I bet Hong Kong does not ban anime downloads too and their connection is much better than Singapore. Besides why would they ban english subs while like 80% of the population is poor with english. Even holywood movies have to be subed in chinese there.

It just happens to be the de facto format of Chinese fansubbing groups. You can get AVI and (very) rarely, MKV (usually DVD rips).

IMO, done well, RMVB is comaprable with AVI (XVID et al). And besides, the Chinese internet infrastructure isn't the best on earth. Smaller file sizes help.

teh fact that the real codec while is good is not even compareable as the quality/compression ratio of a good xVID or DivX algorithm, let along H2.64 is a turn off for me.

Chinese have bad infrastructure?
Have you tried leeching stuff in china for chinese stuff before their infrastructure owns our potongsteamyx anytime its just that their international line *ahem* sux big time cos the gov puts a big firewall and monitors their trafic.

He means everything about RMVB is a turn-off. What he means is... RMVB is not comparable to Xvid or DivX LET ALONE H.264

well I hate Quicktime and Real Media too.....probably due to the sucky encoded with low filesize videos that I downloaded >.>"

Anyway, if done properly, it could yield good results but heck h264 is the 1 to go for now smile.gif

I guess quicktime's compression are still ok cos IVe seen some really good righ res quicktime files but for RMVB Ive never seen any good ones besides they have some slides removed from the file for compression. THats why I hate RMVB and if possible I do not get it, unless Ive got no choice.
