It's really problematic when people come on here and cry father "wah wah my Apple is dead" blah blah, but fails to reveal one of the most important details, which is:

What Apple model?

There are well over 10 generations of iMacs, spanning several different lines of CPUs and manufacturers. For all we know your Mac could be facing its intended end cycle, ie, over 6 years. Or it could be one of those machines that's "optimized for OS9", such as the iMac rev.A, powered by the IBM G3, going back to a time when the iMac was known as just plain "iMac", no G3, G4, G5 or Intel. See what I mean?

Now bryanyz, I see in your sig you have an iMac with the Universal Binary logo. If that is really your machine, then it's an iMac Intel. The first iMac Intel came out in July 2006. Apple's warranty is good for a year. Which means if your sig correctly correspond to your Mac model, then you have nothing to worry about. You are still covered.

I think it is the motherboard problem. But i'm not sure how imac works. I mean is it the imac processor and motherboard "fixed" together? Or is it like normal pc.. Seriously, RM3k? Better go buy new imac or used imac.. shocking.gif
