I have a Motorola V9 and I am using Maxis. My problem is that I cannot access the web and cannot send MMS. I have activated 3G by sending my request to *133# and received the activation. However, even if I key in the settings manually as guided in the forum or use the Maxis configurator, yet I still fail to send/receive my first MMS. Please advise and how to unlock the web session? Someone please help me. Thank you.

yours is AP unit??

make sure the settings is entered correctly in the webaccess > websession > Maxis 3g (the APN for maxis 3g is unet)
1. press option, set as default
now u should able to run it..

and for mms, make sure the websession also has this Maxis 3g mms settings
1. go to message > options > message setup > MMS > server info > maxis 3g

then done..

thanks PRINZE, I've tried your advice, but still cannot. Actually I bought this phone from Singapore and it's pre-installed with Sg's operators settings. I took it to Digital Mall earlier and the guy there said he put his SIM card, the mms and web browsing works. However, my maxis 3G card cannot. I'm surprised since I can make video call but just can't MMS. I will have to go to Maxis then, cross my fingers, hopefully it's really the SIM problem and not the phone problem. What good is a 3G phone if only can sms and video call but cannot web browse or mms. For people who wants to buy V9 or Motorola phones, better think twice. I went to so many phone shops to ask for help on this problem and by the very moment they see that I'm using Moto, they straight away say they couldn't help.

video call no need do settings.. since yours is AP unit, that's why u need to do the settings for MMS and GPRS manually.. unless u flash it with local firmware, then u no need go through the hassle.. as for MMS, if you follow my instruction, u need not go to maxis centre..

for mms, make sure the websession also has this Maxis 3g and Maxis 3g mms settings (refer below no. 1 & 2 for config, create these 2 first)
before proceed, go to message > options > setup > message setup > MMS setup > server info > (if maxis 3g mms not available, you have to create yourself..)
create new profile
- service name: maxis 3g mms
- serer name: http://172.16.74.100:10021/mmsc
- web session name: Maxis 3g mms (if cant work, change to maxis 3g because i forgot which one.. tongue.gif)
make sure the maxis 3g mms profile is "tick"..

1. to create GPRS setting in WebSessions:
- go to main menu > webaccess > websession > [new entry]
- name: maxis 3g
- homepage: http://wap.maxis.com.my/wml/index.wml
- proxy: 202.075.133.049
- port 1: 80
- gprs apn: unet
- username: maxis
- password: wap
press done. (the rest of the field just ignore)

2. to create MMS setting in WebSessions:
- go to main menu > webaccess > websession > [new entry]
- name: maxis 3g mms
- homepage: http://172.16.74.100:10021/mmsc
- proxy: 202.075.133.049
- port 1: 80
- gprs apn: unet
- username: maxis
- password: wap
press done. (the rest of the field just ignore)

Thank you so much. I have keyed in accordingly and you know, I found out that my maxis 3G 128k SIM is really not working, maybe not compatible. But when I put my dad's 64k SIM, it worked well wor. After so much of hassle, it is actually this small SIM card problem... sigh... lesson learnt =(

Yes. Activated my gprs and keyed in gprs settings but cannot. then I master reset the phone and settings, activate 3G and key in 3G settings also cannot. but yesterday I activate my dad's SIM and put in my phone, can MMS, web browse and video call. So I think it's proven that my SIM really has a problem, although it's brand new. Maybe new can be faulty too. So hopefully when I go to MAXIS tomorrow and get it replaced, hopefully it will not give me anymore problem. If not, I feel so unlucky lo.

depend on which model of nokia u compare, the ringtone of motorola typically will sounds good and quite loud enuff,u wont miss ur call even at outdoor,if compare to certain nokia model such as n73,maybe nokia will win in loudness, but the loudness oso = noisy.

so far with my experience, motorola owns the best sounds if compare with SE and Nokia
