hello
regarding 2.5'' hard disk:
wats the diff btw SATA & IDE?
thx!
*

SATA and IDE are different in shape and tranfer rates. SATA is faster, not to sure on the exact speed

I have a question. How should I determine the number of Watts my pc would need? and what are signs of power running low?

hi, i've just gotten myself a linksys wrt54gl ver 1.1 and understand that it does support third party firmwares (like dd-wrt, etc). but i didnt know it doesnt have an internal adsl modem, so now should i get another cheap modem and stick with it or sell it off and get another wifi modem+router?

if i were to get another modem, which adsl modem should i get? any cheap modems will do?

thanks!

QUOTE(new in IT @ Mar 30 2009, 12:43 PM)
I have a question, i know that there are external casing or third party casing for 2.5" HDD. Is there any external casing for 3.5" HDD? Is 3.5" HDD faster than 2.5" HDD?

I am planning to buy a 500GB HDD in this coming PC Fair.

Please give advise. Thanks.

yes.
the enclose priced abouot 50-70. normally it has power supply, and there are 3 types,

with IDE connector,

SATA hardisk more cheaper. IDE more expensive,
by the way, port and connector wire not same,
150mbps (SATA) vs 100/133mbps (PATA).

Try replacing the PSU, best borrow first. If old and new same, maybe motherboard need to replace. nod.gif

see which type of setup give you lesser lost in term of money, so far i dont see any problem using cheap modem, and modem is already cheap nowadays

if you want less hassle and easy setup with lesser LAN cable running around the router and modem, then get the wifi modem + router, but modem+router is more expensive than you just get another modem.

this are just my opinion.

I heard that 45nm is not able to do as well in terms of voltage increase (proportionally) compared to 65nm....
So they're more vulnerable to electromigration when more voltage is pushed on them, ie. Q9450 v. Q6700
