![]() Ok, first of all.. would like to thank my colleague for letting me know about this LYN shirt competition Secondly, let me go straight to the point, on how I came up with this shirt design. Front Design - Since the shirt will be in black, I've choosen red color, coz both blend together well and creates greater impact on it. - If you guys look at the logo, you'll notice both of them somehow reminds us of 2 different "world" and relates to "Ying Yang" symbol. That's why I've inserted together that symbol into my design in order to give it a meaningful shirt + sheild to protect it. - Lines that comes down (sharp edges) reflects the digital world across LYN site. Back Design - I dont its necessery to put lowyat.net tag on the front design, coz its pretty obvious that its a LYN logo so that's why I have the tagline on the back design together with the outlined logo. - I didnt add in the "v2" sign coz its not permanent feature if I'm not mistaken. When things changes, version changes too. - Fire element too plays important role on the logo, thats why I've inserted as main component here (Sun + Flame). - Birds flying around the sun and LYN logo is to create some sort of "freedom" feel- Indicating that all the people who came to visit this site or forum have the rights to say something without any objection as long as its not against the rules set my LYN. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was abit bored + got some ideas in my mind so came up with another design ![]() My description as follows: Front Design - As you can see its machinery kinda design. Pipes [indicating tech designs] flowing starting from LYN logo. - Lowyat.net text attached together with the pipes to show the contribution of LYN to create more tech enthusiast in this high tech field. Back Design - LYN text combines together to create indicating it's support for malaysian tech community, passing through towards the LYN logo. Thanks in advance for the comments people. I like your way of explaining the design...
here is my humble comment. 1) The "yin yang" symbol. Actually, it is ok for us Chinese but LYN is actually meant for all races. So the symbol actually originated to Tao or Taoism and therefore, it might ( " i emphasize... MIGHT" ... I am not racist but I respect other raligion) cause some unnecessary misunderstanding. 2) The Palor/talon/roman's column that the two icon character standing on... to me some how it shows the Cross..(again its MY OWN OPINION). Showing some religious "reflection" 3) And overall, based on the whole picture -- two religious "look-a-like" symbol + the devil (right icon)... I dun think it is a right idea. I am not criticizing anything but this is my opinion. If you found my comment are annoying and un-appropriate... PLEASE PM ME AND I WILL REMOVE IT.. Thank you, Sincere, HKNP |

I 2nd HKNP's comments
there is a little subtle religious projection there, though it may not be intentional. But overall, the 1st thing that hit me ; Wow! Nothing short of that. Noice! I feel the back design a lot. |

HKNP got a point there. when we design, many has to be taken account for. social interest, religious interest, cultural and so on. as for the Yin and Yang, to me, it's just a symbol of balance, which is brilliant. but many may interpret otherwise.
overall, i like the color and contrast you've created. you use the color red which surrounds the LYN icon, which i reckon is brilliant. not too contrast, but it creates harmony, which is good. and the idea of LYN being at the back and front, is also wicked. this promotes the sense of thrill hehe. good job bro. |
