me and my fren are quite interested in road cycling but as we are still students, budget would be a big problem. If we look for 2nd hand bikes could we lower the cost to 1k-2k??
any shop recommendations that would help noobs to purchase bikes? |

of course can, you can take both wheels out, or just the front wheel but you do need to lower you back seat.
by the way, our TS just bought a bike. for me, it was a good deal. let me know when you want to sell the 105 dude. |

Maybe after i get myself the ultegra groupset. Added on December 4, 2007, 2:30 pm QUOTE(jonjon87 @ Nov 29 2007, 06:46 PM) Dude, as been told by Miniacs, you can get the bike from Bikepro or other shops. (ConceptCycle, Lerun Bangsar, KSH, Joo Ngan And Son). Or you can search in Bicycle Buy and Sell. This post has been edited by ironrashid_2k2: Dec 4 2007, 02:30 PM |

Some of them can be very "stuck-up" with all their high-end bikes. Been through that. |

damn mzqee536, your bike is a classic already. 13 years mate. Eddy Merckx is a good rider, he was riding on De Rosa bike when he first started if I am not mistaken. Love De Rosa frame especially Kings3 but the price is not too my liking..
Prince of Andalus, i think your destination could be from Petra Jaya to Damai Beach kot, the first half is the easy part but once you are closer to Damai Beach resort, there is where the fun begins...hilly dude..i thought Kuching people are more inclined to mtb. correct me if i am wrong. but the mtb scene in malaysia, to me personally are getting ever more popular than road. some more the mtb bikes look more canggih if it is dirtier..road bike you got to keep it clean. famous mtb riders that switch to road bike are like micheal rasmussen, evan cadels, flandis lyod (my spelling for these names a bit cacat a bit.) by the way, do you know that there is one Malaysian mechanic working for a pro team Gerolsteiner. I wonder who he is, and I am not sure whether it is true. anyone can confirm this and who this person is? since this is a road bike forum, would like to know if anyone here support any of the Pro Team. I am quite new in this sport so dont know much about Pro Team but I support Gerolsteiner coz it is one of the cleanest team (in terms of drug), 2nd - got M'sian mechanic (not sure true or not, read it in magazine - Cycling Sport), 3rd - strong affliation with Shimano, hopefully they will use the new digital groupset next year. but my fave jersey is Team Astana... |

can cycle at kesas highway motorbike lane, putrajaya, but i usually do the hilly area like hartamas, damansara and kenny hills. the teams that you mentioned still exist, except the staff and rider of discovery team are now in Team Astana. Team Astana looks strong with the lineup.
the small item that you trying to describe could be a stem. anyway, where is the picture? |

thanks mate. that is cool, i wonder how he got the job, but i assume that he will still be with the team for next season. Next season is the last season that Gerolsteiner will be sponsoring the team.
It will be good if Rajen could share his experience working with a pro team. It could be an interesting story, i have a fren who was working for Petronas F1 team for 5 years, travelling the globe. Damn, I wish I could do that instead of a comfortable desk job. |
