Yes guys, its finally here!

First step is to get ourselves a design, and the design of the T-shirt would be by a member, as chosen by members.

Rules, Terms, Conditions and Other Important Information

1. Your submission of an entry in this competition signifies your acceptance of the terms and conditions as listed here, and any other rules as we may impose from time to time.

2. The competition is only open to registered Lowyat.NET community members, except Administrators and Forum Administrators. Thats se7en himself, wKkaY, nexus- and RBR.

3. To enter the Lowyat.NET T-Shirt Design Competition, all entries must be completed with the T-Shirt template attached below with a design which includes Lowyat.NET logos and their individual interpretation of the Lowyat.NET's personality with no limitations of any creative briefs.

4. All entrants must submit their design in *.PSD or *.AI format with a JPEG thumbnail with the size of (400px x 400px) and equip their entry with any additional notes or remarks that signifies their design, name, Lowyat.NET handle (username), IC number, address, contact number, email address and submit it to: submit[at]lowyat.net [This is an email address. Replace the [at] with '@'. We made it this way to prevent spam bots. This explanation was added because, yes, I have quite incredulously received 2 PMs so far asking what 'submit[at]lowyat.net' is.]

5. The Lowyat.NET T-Shirt Design Competition commences on 8th April 2007. All entries must be received by 11.59pm, 30th April 2007. Late entries, or entries not in accordance with Rule 4 above will not be considered.

7. The judging process will take place in the following manner:-
a) A small group of members (approximately 8) consisting of regular forum members, moderators, staffs and administrative staff, as chosen by se7en, will select 10 designs from all the valid entries received.
b) The winner will then be the design with the highest votes from the 10, as voted by registered members of this forum.

8. We will, without notice, disqualify any entry we deem to have been fraudulently voted upon. We can, at our discretion, change the final voting system should fraud be evidenced.

8. There will be ONE main winner whose design will become the basis of the T-Shirt. This design may be modified.

9. The winner will win a Samsung SGH-Z560 mobile phone worth RM1,599, as reviewed here and a Lowyat.NET T-shirt. The remaining 9 finalists will be mailed the T-shirt once it has been printed. [Note : Phone NOT sponsored by Samsung. Finalist might get more than one t-shirt (we're printing baby-T's too) depending on availability]


10. The Organiser shall not be liable if, for any reason outside its control, the Samsung SGH-Z560 becomes unavailable. We will, however, endeavour to replace it with a similarly valued replacement.

11. If the Organiser is unable to contact the Winner after a period of 2 weeks following the original judging date, having made reasonable efforts to do so, the Organiser reserves the right to re-judge from the remaining eligible entries and select another winning design.

12. All prizes will be mailed to the winners unless otherwise stated. If your address or any other details provided is invalid, your prize is forfeited.

12. All entrants must ensure their entries are original. The Organiser reserves the right to verify the validity of all entries. The Organiser also reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for tampering with the entry process or attempting to act in a fraudulent, plagiarism and does not breach rights such as copyright and trademarks. Designs must not in any way libellous, obscene, menacing, threatening, offensive, abusive, fraudulent, criminal or that they infringe the rights of other people or are in any way illegal or otherwise dishonest manner.

13. The Winner of Lowyat.NET T-Shirt Design Competition will be announced publicly on the main site of Lowyat.NET at an appropriate time.

14. All entries and intellectual property rights will be assigned automatically as the property of the Organiser upon submission. Entries will be re-produced at the Organiser's discretion. You are not to re-use any submitted designs for any other purposes.

16. The Organiser will hold and may use personal information accompanying any entries for purposes relating to the promotion and for sending entrants promotional and other material in relation to future offers, information and activities of the Organiser, unless otherwise advised by the entrant at the time of entry. All entrants have the right to inspect and update their personal information at any time.

17. You may at your own discretion upload a watermarked image of your design on the submission thread in this subforum for feedback and such. However, the official entry for the competition will only be accepted via submit[at]lowyat.net as stated above.

T-shirt design template

The background colour of the T-shirt will be black. Your design should take that into account.

Below is the T-shirt template on which you are to base your design on. You may modify the template provided, or use your own template should you see fit.

Addendum: You may open up a thread in this subforum to gather opinions about your submission before you actually submit it to submit[at]lowyat.net. This is limited to 1 thread per person.

We'll provide the psd of the logo later today.

As for some of your questions..

1. Posting your design on this subsection is optional. Official entries for the contest should be sent to submit[at]lowyat.net as per the above regulations before 30th April.

2. Please use the template provided, the t-shirt will be printed on a dark background (dark grey/black) hence your design should take that into account.

3. The submission deadline is quite clearly stated.

4. You may submit more then one entry. Just make sure to follow the rules and regulations.

5. If a selected finalist is deemed to have plagiarized a design, it will automatically be forfeited. With the number of members we have who are bound to see the final 10 designs put up for voting, it would be in your best interest not to submit a design copied from elsewhere.

Considering the prize at stake, and the number of submissions we're bound to get (already at the moment there are about 15), it would be in your creative interest to come up with genuine ideas for the t-shirt. Apart from the logo, there is no other restrictions for what you can and may use on the shirt. You can come up with a new tag line, use different fonts and so much more. Don't ask for the fonts because if you're going to copy our header and put it on the t-shirt, you might as well not submit your entry.
