This happened last night.

When i switch on my PC. It showed an error msg in POST saying that CPU temp is too high.

"CPU fan speed error detected. Ensure CPU fan is properly installed on the CPU_FAN header." But the fan was blasting and running in full load.

Heres what i did:

1. Unplug my H100i V2 fan header and plug it into the other CHA_FAN 1 header. The fan still works, but in bios main menu, CHA_Fan 1 is shown not working and no rpm is shown.

2. Plug my case fan into CPU_Fan header. Case fan works fine. Bios display CPU fan is working and rpm is showing.

In this case, is the cooler fan header faulty? or is the mobo?

Please advice. Thanks.

Have u try to let corsair link control the aio fan? If you have both corsair link and mobo software to dictate the fan speed, they might give conflicted signal

What you should do, in bios, look for advance tab. Then look for the cpu fan control and choose ignore.

This will allow you to bypass bios check and log in to window.

I use H100i too, and i did this as it wont allow you to enter window if choose as to be monitor

Actually i disabled cpu q fan control in bios long time ago. Reason why its because i dont want corsair link and asus fan expert to clash.

I tried to plug my corsair h100i v2 fan header into cpu_opt, cha_fan1, cha_fan2, cha_fan3. All fan port shown not working and no rpm when its connected to h100i v2.

However, i connect my case fan to cpu_opt, cha_fan1, cha_fan2, cha_fan3. They are all working fine. Rpm is displayed in bios.

From this, im quite sure h100i v2 is faulty.

U said fan spinning and the cpu is overheating, meaning the coolant in the radiator is not circulating, the culprit is at the pump attached to the cpu, maybe the current supply to the pump from mobo is not working u can try swap to other header, otherwise ur pump is dead, try use ur finger to feel the pump if it is vibrating, my 2cents
