Since this Monday, my PC started freezing after awhile, not sure how long is the interval...

Even when I'm not playing game, just surfing LYN Forum without any background processes running, it will freeze (Everything is not responding) for about 3-5 seconds after a few minutes... Maybe like 10-15mins, I'm not too sure because it happens quite randomly.

When I'm playing a dota game, it will freeze (Everything cannot be moved including my mouse cursor) for like 3-4 times in the game... Anyone can come out with any ideas to solve this problem of mine?

I'm using an old PC.. the following is my specs:
AMD Athlon Barton 2600++
512*2 MB PC3200 RAM
80GB WD 7200rpm HDD

This PC was bought in year 2002, i know it's old, but... i still need help, thanks!!

The main reason why your pc freezing for few second is because of insufficient of power supply.Beside that it consisted all your hardware modules in your system unit.

For the solution better upgrade the BIOS battery and PSU.

i dont think it might be caused by hardware. It can be caused by software incompatibility. I once have a similar problem with my notebook. Every now and then it just freezes but just for a fraction of a sec. Can see it when moving the mouse it suddenly stops a while. Very frustrating. I later found out that the XP wireless thinge causes the problem. Install the correct driver and software and walla! Problem solved! It was problem with my inspiron 600m notebook.

actually that was a few sign that show ur mobo maybe gonna die soon.. check ur mobo if got bad capacitors.. read this http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/341368

this a few symptoms for mobo with bad caps

QUOTE
System Faults:
  Motherboard fails to POST.
  Memory Test Fails.
System randomly and/or constantly reboots itself.
Fails to fully boot (or even install) Operating System.
  System randomly and frequently freezes.
Random & frequent 'Blue Screens of Death'
BSoD or hard freeze under heavy drive activity (Either RAID, SCSI, or standard ATA)
CPU temps abnormally higher than usual under typical or less load.
*CPU VCORE & other system voltages are erratic or far out of tolerances.
Resetting the system after a freeze and the system will not repost.
(You have to completely power down then power back up.)

*CPU VCORE & System voltage issues can also be associated with a faulty power supply.  Before you decide your caps are bad, ALWAYS try a known good and high quality power supply.

anyway, like i said, its maybe only not confirm 100%
