I've been eyeing on Hp envy 13-d044TU laptop for quite some time now.
So far i read the reviews on the net but i just wanted to hear from some of you who have bought and used it for a while. So how do you find the laptop any good?

I had my old envy 17" laptop for about 5 years now. So far am loving the laptop except that it's really bulky & heavy and i just use it for my hardcore research simulation works or doing some photoshop or video editing.
I just dock this laptop to a separate 24" monitor to become truly a desktop replacer.

But now, since my job requires me to go mobile a bit, i need another ultraportable laptop with sufficient power but NOT TOO powerful though as i already have my envy 17" for the job.

So i need your own experience in using this Hp envy 13-d0044TU laptop in terms of:

battery life
processing power
and my most important question of all: does it get HOT after using it for a while, especially at the palm rest area? Does the fan really that loud when working on full load?

My old envy 17" get really hot to a point it could burn my palm! doh.gif
but i rectified the problem with using external keyboard.

another question: which spec should i get?
i5 vs i7?
4gb vs 8gb?
128gb vs 256gb SSD?

I'm also eyeing on Macbook Air 13" full spec , but with rm4,999 i just get i5.
With the same amount of money, i could get hp envy 13" with i7.

Appreciate your feedbacks in this matter.

But elitebook is kinda expensive right?
My budget is just below rm4.5k is possible. sweat.gif

Xyrotix,
I5 5250 is not skylake whereas i7 6500 is right?

But for normal office works & some light multimedia, i5 would be enough no? unsure.gif

Asus zenbook?
Core m processor is reliable these days?
With fanless technology, you sure the laptop won't get overheated badly? sweat.gif

Sorry with all the questions as i am quite new to ultrathin ultra laptops.

No doubt Elitebook is the business grade laptop for HP, but the quality had dropped alot over the last few years.

I have an Elitebook Workstation bought in 2010. Although the laptop is still running well, but during the first 3 years, they replaced 2 motherboard, and now the motherboaed still have some issues.

That's why I stop buying Elitebook as I feel the premium I paid does not justify the quality. But their warranty service for business laptop is good... They will Replace anything that has problem..

I saw a core i3 (skylake) with FHD instead of QHD screen for RM2.7k, with 2yr warranty.

I haven't seen any reviews/tests of the model, but it sounds like a good deal as the performance would not be off an i5 and better than a core m, and the fhd screen would be less taxing on performance and battery than the qhd screen on the i5.

base on ur work request, u can think of MSI PE60 6QE. because this model is certified by Adobe, come with the perfect color Accuracy, u can have eye opening experience with True Color Technology, 100% SRGB panel.
MSI PE60 is with i7 CPU processor, Nvidia GTX960 2GB GDDR5, 4GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, 15.6 FHD anti-glare screen, vivid color 94%, Silky silver metallic cover. Only cost abt RM4,099. 17.3" screen size just RM4,299.
It is really worth to consider it into your work, as u mentioned mainly for photoshop & video editing. this model able to fulfill your requirement. thumbup.gif
