why u like to generalize? acer also has problem wut, i got 2 5051 from acer, even the original ram can't pass memtest86+ @ 5-5-15 at CL5 ok? and 5051 comes with a standard 533 ram for the whole production, but they misplaced one 667 into one of the two lappies...

went yesterday and sat down with them to troubleshoot, but then still can't fix it, they're surrendering and calling the acer technician to settle.

what my point here is saying is that don't just over-generalize on problems for one manufacturer. everything sure got its fair share of problem, and it's us who gives it chance to improve.

iv posted about the problem i have with my v3125au.

i get random bsod when i turn on wifi/bluetooth. according to hte hp website, i was suppose to update the bios firmware which i already.

someone is gonna buy my laptop anyway so might as well i get some better laptop [:

nonetheless the v3000 series is the best looking laptop for its price tag. it puts any other laptop brands to shame within the price range.

Get it here: Memtest86+ Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

2) What do i do after that?

Click on the link Download (Pre-built&ISOs)

Latest version is 1.70, and up to u whether u'd want the .iso file or the .zip file. the bootable binary is using floppy, the bootable iso is using cd. so if your lappie dont have floppy (i presume all V3000 series doesnt come with floppy by default), so download the iso and burn it using nero or whatever burning software u use

3) Reboot your PC with the CD inside

4) Press F2 (double check, kinda forget since i never go into laptop's bios cause can't tweak anything

) and select the boot order to CD-ROM/DVD-RW (whatever is your cd drive la)

5) Save and exit, and let it boot up, it'll read from the cd.

6) Memtest86+ will load from the CD and start testing, there's 8 tests all together, and make sure none fails. if got failure, then the ram boleh buang

hey bro.. i burn da iso file into a CDRW but it still cant boot frm da cd even i had change da boot order edi... so wats da problem?? izit it hav to use CDR rather than CDRW???

y this laptop sumtimes dnt want to load normal CDs??

i bouhgt this game(in CD)...didnt want to open...just keep spining and it hang....

from that moment on, I buy DVD game instead. I did try to burn buy it just error and stuck...and bye bye to the CD...

hi, i juz get myself a Compaq V3133AU for RM3140 with extra 512MB of RAM DDR2 667MHz n 2GB Mini SD by A-DATA 60x.. however, the cdrom bay is quite loose.. anyone having same problem? or it is same for all V3000 series?

cd games?no problem for my laptop so far.except that cd gives louder 'rrrrrrrrr' noise than dvd.better go on with dvd la.so anyone knows about 'bluetooth server error'?

last nite after i used my laptop, i just close my notebook, no shut down windows with the power supply still connecting to it.
Then after one hour, i open back my laptop, then the screen just flash(got some messages on the screen, but didn't manage to read it) a bit a restart the windows, is it error or not?
Overheat?

damn,,,, since when this thread became spammed..... where goes all the useful information..... anyone knows when the driver for vista comming out??? My complain is just the damn sony dvd writer not so good..... so choosy in burning blank cd's even TDK got problems,,,,, other,,,, no complain....

Hi guys,

I have a V3105TU and I notice there is a Infrared next to the speaker output. How can I use it to connect my Nokia phone to infrared to my notebook?

Will it auto-detect just like bluetooth?

hmm that i am not sure cause i always burn in CDRs...
maybe u would like to try with CDR...

depends on the CD that u buy la. sometimes u buy those CDs are already farked up, like my friend. he bought movies from those CD shops, came back like cannot play cause the CD itself was problematic and one even had scratch on it...

did u too upgrade extra 667 ram? if u did, i think that might be the problem. my news source says that the new compaqs are equipped now with 533 instead of 667 as most of the 667s are incompatible and gave a lot of errors...compaq even released 4 updates at one time to fix this issue
