Get the original one which is not cheaper.

Some of the reason to get the more expensive one is that it will leave no stain when you remove the screen protector from the screen unlike the more cheaper type.

I would suggest that you get the extendable stylue. a wallet pouch and a crystal casing for your ds for full protection

I have a Phat DS. Recently I found that the battery life is becoming shorter. It's time to replace the battery I guess. I looked around and can only find DS Lite's battery.

Can I use DS Lite's Battery on Phat DS? IINM DS Lite is using 1000 mAh battery while Phat DS is using 850 mAh battery.
*

I doubt so, as you can see their voltages are different by 150 mAh. Wrong power suppply will only fry your DS.

You can try this Charge Boy DS (which is bulky and big);

or you can try this - Rechargeable Battery Pack.

For more info, you may want to find out more at Official Nintendo DS FAQ.

hi there everyone
i am total noob here.
just considering buying NDSL but i dun even know much. although i have read the guide here. no doubt this is a very good guide . thx to reveur~
anyone can tell me the pros of this ndsl?
sorry if i am asking repeat Qs but i just want brief info bout this hand held console. hope someone can help out this noob girl here. THX in advance blush.gif

Pros? Well that depends on what you are looking for.

In short, NDSL is a handheld game which has 2 screen. The top screen and bottom screen are the same except that the bottom screen has touch screen function that can be used while playing games.

The kind of games you will mostly be playing in NDSL are not pretty. They are not graphically enchanced. So do not expect PS2 or PSP graphic there. What it lost in graphic though it makes do with its gameplay. Some of the more interesting games can be found in a list on page 1 post 2.

Just two questions before I decide to get NDSL (boy, I hope I make the right choice):

1. NDSL can use wifi at anywhere with wifi hotspot? Is it like laptop? Or need to get additional tool to enable the wifi?

2. I read somewhere that we can watch movie and listen to mp3 on this machine but funny when I ask the boy at the game shop this afternoon, he does not know that it can do that.

TQ.

p/s: I like to play cute games like Super Mario, The Sims and etc....I hope NDSL is the better choice for me smile.gif

Yes, you can play any wifi enable games at any wifi hotspot, provided you have authorizations to the ISP's internet connections.

While at home, if you have wireless router (brands like Linksis, DLink, etc) you can play wifi too.
If you don't, you can get Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector, WiFi MAX, WiFi Link, or any USB WiFi connector compatible to Nintendo in ther market, such as
GW-US54Mini2G

for more info, check 1st page post #4;

you can listen to mp3 or movie using this device Play-Yan Micro.

you can read review by fellow forumer - SWATwolf at hostplay.blogspot.com/.

There's a homebrew application - Moonshell, which enable your DS to play mp3 & movies too, however, I won't provide any info on that.

hope you'll get a DS soon, and welcome to the club.

there's a monthly The Great LYN Nintendo DS Meet up, feel free to join us.

No, its not supposed to exude any such colour. I would get that looked into if its old. Demand for a new one if its new.

Mostly recon stuff have defects on the upper screen. Two of my frens DS has prob with this. One has really low refresh rate on the upper screen and the second has some sort of magnetic field clour (green and pinkish a bit) like u see on old tv's. So i assume its probably a recon set.

I'd like to ask a few questions.

1. What's the difference between Wifi Max and Wifi Link?
2. Any shops selling Wifi Max around in KL or something?

Thank you very much... I am very puzzled in terms of playing online since I don't have a wireless router. huhu.

are USB WiFi connector, manufacured/produced by different companies/brands.

It's a solution for users that do not have a wireless connection at home. For example, you don't have a wireless router, you can use any of the above.

Not sure where to get these in KL, however, you can get GW-US54Mini2G from All IT Hypermart @ Lowyat Plaza and Digital Mall (section 14, PJ).

You should also know that not all games can play "online" so to speak. Some games allow communication online, eg Animal Crossing, Tetris, Custom Robo Arena.

While some games only allow you to upload your data online, eg Megaman Starforce

So do not be surprised that there is not much game that can play "online"

Yeah, i understood that not all games go for online. So i'm ok with that.

I'm just tempted to buy Wifi Max cuz according to Play-Asia it also supports Wii. I'm buying a Wii in later times which means that the Wifi Max is also a long term investment item.

Scratches is building up on my touch screen, guess I am and idiot for using the stylus without any protector.

I wanna buy the original Hori screen protector but after some research, there are too many faked ones around and it is hard to differentiate. Can some recommend me a good store in KL area that won't rip me off? Also, what's the market price of it now?

THIS is the main reason I hesitated so much.
