R4 in essence is better. They are actually the same thing buy R4 has faster firmware support. and its easier to get it in Malaysia.

But looking at ur siggy it seems u can get stuff easily from US. No? U might want to try Ezflash or something.. That one if you buy the whole set you can play slot 2 and slot 1 too. Do a search for it.

Just bought a NDSL one week ago biggrin.gif I have a few questions

1) Battery lasts for only bout 5 hours at level 2 & 3 brightness, low volume, non-continuous play. Normal n ok?

2) Has anyone used this Hori Protector? Wonder if the sticky strips will leave marks/residue on the DS body when its taken off. Or maybe should wait for this Hori Protect Case instead. Recommendations?

I think i c a few hairline scratches sad.gif

Okay, I have a Q. What are suppose to happen when we recharge our DS lite? Does something supposed to light up? Mine doesn't show a thing. Just receive it from my brother who just returned from US. Could it be the charger is faulty?

If ur battery is full you wont get any lights.
If its charging the lights would be Orange

But since you say you got ur ds from the states, get a step down converter because the voltage of the charger from the states and asia are different voltage. There are potential that you will fry your DS
*

The DS still flashing red and wont charge. Step down converter? What's that?
Will serbu Imbi this afternoon and look for someone who can get it charge. Maybe I should try looking for a USB charger.

My brother also gave me stuffs called G6 Flash. Anyone knows how to use it?

G6 flash is a flashcart. unfortunately we cant discuss it here. Try to google it. Personally I have no idea how to use it though

It is best you get the USB charger. Its simpler and easier to use.

If Wi-Fi SSID you found says TMNET or *insert any telco company name*, you can't connect through most of them unless you have the Nintendo DS browser. You'll need to find a unprotected hotspot or set one up yourself. tongue.gif

I believed caterpiez is asking from Windows point of view, not Macintosh.

The MAC ADDRESS, he/she was refering is actually this, NOT Macintosh.

perhaps sheep or any1 using Aztech can answer, since caterpiez is refering to Sheep's Aztech post.

hi jy14,

welcome to the club soon.

Here's my answers to your questions:

1) There are no such thing as DS games or DS Lite Games. All DS games are playable by both DS and DS Lite. The only difference of a NDS (aka Phat DS/Fat DS) and a NDSL are the physical built up. Just like PS2 and PS2 Slim.

additonal: there are no region lock to the games as well, i.e. if u own a NDSL (US), you can still play JAP games, vice versa. FYI, NDS & NDSL can play GBA games too.

2) as replied above - #1;

3) for this, I won't reply you; nod.gif nod.gif nod.gif nod.gif nod.gif nod.gif wink.gif

4) it's highly recommended (can consider as A-MUST) to have screen protector. Reason being, most of the DS Games are stylus base, i.e. touch screens, sooner or later, ur screen will be scratched.

HORI produced Nintendo lincensed products, therefore, YES, it's reliable+trustable.

In fact, 99% of the NDS or NDSL users do have their screen protected.

Hi Guys, May I know R4 and SCDS one, which one is better? so far I know R4 is the safest and cheapest. But what about SCDS one?

I have bought DS Lite from other country, is it work with R4 or SCDS one?

What is the price for the cover and screen protector in value pack from HORI brand approximately? Or they sell separately?

Thanks a million..... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

As per comparison between R4 and SCDS, the R4 is slightly better and cheaper.

Yes, there is no region code for this carts. You can use it on any DS LITE from any country smile.gif

The cover and screen protector in value pack? Where did you find this? Play-Asia? As per my understanding, retailer in malaysia do not have such things

Oh R4.... From the website info R4 and SCDS one spec.:

http://www.r4ds.com/product-en.htm

http://eng.supercard.cn/products_scdsone.htm

It seems like more or less the same.

Because I always tot SCDS one is much covered all the functions that you want, such as listen mp3, view browser and ebook, watch movie, etc and its functions stable. BTW, Is the R4 functionality stable or not?
Maybe I will consider R4....

About the value pack, I think I really confused up myself when I looked from the website:

http://www.hori.jp/us/products.html

And my singapore friend said they have sell NDS lite accessories value pack, but I think only NDS cover value pack but not the screen protector. Therefore, I just wandering whether they have sell in value pack here. rclxub.gif

R4 is more stable then SCDS. Less bug and problem and also updated frequently

NDS Lite Value pack for accessories? Now that u show the one ur refering to. I suggest u dont get those. They are cheap item bundled together to sell for ppl. I would suggest you get other type of items or buy them separately .

Now I know sort called of 'value pack'.

I will re-consider of that. About the screen protector, do I get the cheaper one or HORI one, especially for the touch screen? hmm.gif

Are you referring to the NSMB DS Lite Value Pack from your link?

I bought it a few months back. Not really worth the price you pay for. The long stylus is decent though.

Maybe my research is not good enough... Do you have the pic of that value pack?
It's ok if don't have, maybe I will consider to buy them separately.

Thanks. nod.gif
