professional photographer - a photographer that works in photography field and has discipline and high conduct of ethics in his works.

based on this thread, i think you see the word PRO has been so randomly used that most people don't understand the meaning.

while what you said has been said over and over again, i like your 1 line summary. biggrin.gif

you just became part of the statistic, that majority don't understand the words PROFESSIONAL and AMATEUR.

and to make it worse, many didn't even bother to read the earlier pages and understand the explanation.

a professional photographer is someone who has a successful photography career.

I believe that people who makes great photos but does not earn an income through photography are called photography enthusiasts. only that they are better than the lousy ones.

A professional photographer has many definition. I have worked with a few professional photographers, mostly for architectural purposes. I think a professional photographer can be defined by his skills, and ethics.

A skilled photographer can make use of any weaknesses as opportunities, and an ethical photographer will manage his conduct so as to not downgrade the profession.

Making more money out of photography is not a wise thing to do. Take some good pictures and enhance your skill to the fullest. Enjoy taking pictures and not only thinking about DUIT DUIT & DUIT. Of course money is important. But the pictures you've taken are priceless~ Hehehe..

I would like to point out that the word 'pro' used in the thread title is very misleading.
It might be referring to professional, which would mean "engaged in a profession or engaging in as a profession or means of livelihood"

Or it may refer to the slang 'pro', which would mean that the person is very good at the thing he's doing.

And based on most of the posts I see, different people are voting for different things based on what they interpret the word 'pro' as. doh.gif
