define "lot's of camera and lens"

a lot of them just have like 2 -3 bodies and 4 - 6 lenses. that's hardly a lot and not necessarily need a lot to make a living. smile.gif

I 'm not a photog;
But I voted no. 5~~ brows.gif

Knowledge & skill 's important;
Not too rely to equipments eg: "My photo only looks good with nice camera."
2 respect models during photoshoots;
Not 2 standardize model juz by their outlook & how sexy they 're;
&.... Ahem, try not 2 make comments on models eg: "U dun worth me 2 pay fur shoot u" or "I dun like ur look" etc.

I 'd did photoshoots fur few forums;
But in LYN, da 1st time I being criticized badly on my outlook even da photoshoot still not yet held.... cry.gif
Now I even dunno how 2 confront with those who 'd comment me badly during tat photoshoot day.... sad.gif

Added on June 25, 2008, 12:56 pmBtw, my bf 's a part time photog also;
But I relly wish he can correct his mind tat: "I can't take nice photo without pro camera."

Once he owned a semi-pro Olympus camera & he can take nice scenery & wildlife;
But he complainted those photos not so nice coz da camera 's not pro.... rclxub.gif

Ain't he need 2 practice his skill b4 blame da camera?? doh.gif

Thanks for your post. Sorry to hear that some photoGs have made unnecessary/hurtful comments. Please bear in mind that LYN is made out of individuals of varying maturity and age and you are bound to come across immature comments every now and then.

I hope that this doesn't dampen your spirits towards working with the LYN PhotoGs. There are many talented and matured photoGs around.

As with your friend, he can browse through the Photo Galleries and find that many awesome and wonderful shots are taken without top grade lenses or gears.

Hope that helps and wish you all the best in the upcoming shoot.

But his potrait still need 2 improve....
He shot me once but da result not relly nice....
Maybe coz da weather;
Summore he 's a Graphic Designer, his position more on de background compare with model (I became kelefeh edi)....
So when ppl point it out, he said 's camera problem....

But since all my frenz viewed his landscape & other series, they said his Olympus semi-pro alredy very nice with his skill, no need 2 buy another camera;
Or @ least buy after he improve his skill 2 higher level.
Summore buy a new 1 may burden his economical situation.
But....
He bought his Olympus semi-pro in Apr (yup, juz 2 mths ago by finished up his 1st & whole mth salary);
Then now he juz brought another Canon EOS 450D, argh....!! vmad.gif

Why.. rich guy it seems. Either that or ... (no comment)

450D also semi-Pro.. Oylmpus also semi-pro.. So, there's no upgrade and no downgrade. Seems like waste money to me. IMHO lah..

can you highlight WHICH post / comment did you derive as commenting as being criticized badly on your outlook?

i want to know whether you have misinterpreted anything because so far i browse around, i don't see anything even close to hentaming you in any way.

do highlight.

until we see his shots, we can't say he's wrong.

simply because he could be right, a semi-pro does have it's limitation.

but of course, semi-pro camera still can take nice shots.

have to see the pic / condition first. there's nothing wrong to blame the gear if it's really the gear's lack of ability.. smile.gif

what kind of friends are we talking about? a lot of my friends like my picture also, blur also they like. off-color also they like. tongue.gif

the photographer is his worst critic. again, we need to know what picture it is and what level of knowledge and experience are your friends.

and you think that's bad ah? then make sure he don't come here oh brows.gif

people here like to tell people to buy expensive stuff wan la. lens and flash can cost more than the camera.

anyway - point out the posts that you find hurting. i would like to know what you deem as hurting. you can PM me if you want to keep it private.

thanks.

450D = beginner

Olympus also semi-pro? actually what model was he using? smile.gif we don't know. it could be just a prosumer camera, which is why he upgraded to SLR.

a prosumer to beginner DSLR IS an upgrade. biggrin.gif

kekeke. you know la.

it's like how we get to see a lot of nonsense from American Idol - because everyone says the participant is good, always praise, then the participant also think he's good mah.

but of course you're good in the eyes of people can't do as good as you, or people with no experience la. singing off-pitch or inconsistent tempo also can wan. sure pass.

experience ears will see it differently. myself being a musician as well, will be picky when i hear something off tune or off beat, but a lot of people i know couldn't differentiate instruments or notice what went wrong with the song. biggrin.gif

btw don't post pictures on this thread la. let this thread remain the topic as it is. any other form of discussion, find an existing thread or start a new thread.

Yah. I think I agree. But we must able to diffrentiate a collector and a photographer.

A collector is a person who buys expensive lens and gears but rarely use them. More to showing off than to photographing. A collector is also like a masturbater, collecting and showing off just for his pleasure. Lol!

I think what is important is the photographer himself. The skill and the photographs says it all. biggrin.gif

Just my 2 cents.
