hi,

just wanna know more about the proton perdana V6 year 2000 and above including the new facelifted model. Need an honest review on the car performace, good and bad things (if any) FC, and maintenance. Owner of this car or drive this car before are most welcome to give some feedback / review. Pls dont COMPARE with other cars. Need to know ONLY this machine.

my guess is you bought a perdana?

just sold my year 2000 v6 for 38k. no problems with the car. only added a oil cooler to make sure gearbox does not kaput on me. your timing belt service will cost a bomb. that includes changing 6 irridium spark plugs, and it's no easy job to do. other than that, full syn engine oil, mitsu diaqueen atf fluid and oil filter for regular service. the engine is so smmoth after that. as for fc, rm120 will get u 500km power ok, but don't expect it to go around corners like a satria gti. shocks cost approx rm700 for a set of 4

year 2000 RM38k is a good sell. cos my friend wanted to sell me his for 40k a year 2001 nov V6

but i did not buy and bought other car instead, he sold it for 46k hahahahha

Juz something to tell u when u buy a 2nd hand perdana ..
this is wat i heard for my mechanic.. always help 2nd hand car dealer rebuild car one.

He told me many 2nd hand dealer send those 2nd hand perdana to his shop for Gearbox replacement but to save their cost, their replace a 1.6 wira's gear box rather than a 2.0 V6 Gearbox into it ... that is wat i heard .. :-)

It is true that most v6 perdana gearbox have problem.

my opinion...

- its a powerful car
- ride comfort is superb for its category and value
- earlier model had gearbox problem (1999-2003)
- very noisy cabin for the earlier model (1999-2003)
- i dun like the new interior..earlier model is better(black interior)
- pls take extra caution when going down a slope..if not,ur front bumper sure scratch

hmmmmmmmmmmmm..... i guess most of u is not the owner of the v6 rite. i need the owner to give me the feedback pls. nobody mentioned about the FC for this car. If anyone knows pls do let me know ok. EG: RM ?? = ??? KMs

how is the car? i mean overall? in term of maintenance, parts and FC?

the car is great of the owner really take care of it..

normal servicing would cost around 200-250 (5k km)

parts is not a problem at all coz plenty of it.but dont use imitation

FC - RM100 for 450Kms

the newer version is fitted with gearbox cooler

normally i put rm90 can last me around 400kms city drive with jams
highway can go up to 550km with cruise control @ 110km/h
2003 enhanced model

this car gearbox very kacau la...
suggest to get a gearbox cooler to prolong its life span

it was RM120 for 500km...

means 62.5 L for 500km...8km/l ....

so hows the new enhanced model? any different between the 2 model? how to confirm wheter this model got this gearbox cooler?

the road handling is better but the interior sucks big time..

u can look in front of the radiator..there is a small radiator.it looks like intercooler

the enhanced 2 perdana is the one with waja 1.8 rims

then how come u changed to this model? in term of mileage, any difference?

well, the old v6 is 6 years old already and its time to change to a newer version..

of course the new car has a better fuel consumption coz its new!
