Hi All

Anyone facing similar issue as me ?

My PC has 2 x 1GB RAM, but whenenever i install Kaspersky Anti Virus 6.0, my PC cant boot up, - it hangs at the loading screen.

If boot up with 1GB, it boots perfectly w/ kaspersky installed.

I'm thinking about buying a two year license from ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Kaspersky-Internet-Sec...bayphotohosting

But the thing is, I'm going to be switching to another PC soon (not my current one lah) If I install it on two PCs... kaspersky won't really know, right? biggrin.gif

hmm.... almost seems to good to be true:

I bought one license key already, going to try to install it on more than one PC... >_>

I've installed KAV last week, and i'm glad i've uninstalled it. Back to Norton Antivirus now.

1. Too much reboot needed. After installed KAV, reboot. After updated the virus definition file, reboot. After updated something, reboot. Even during the installation alone I rebooted no less than 2-3 times (program installation once, virus update once, some component update, again).

2. KAV scans through the system too slowly. I'm not sure why people claim its fast, but on my system, KAV antivirus 6.0 seems to scan the whole system much slower than my Symantec Antivirus 10.0. The Live File System protection slows my Laptop much more than Symantec.

3. KAV is annoying. Everytime i click link from MSN or yahoo, it pops up a warning. There are too much occasion KAV pops up the warning that the things I done will damage my computer.
I don't say it's not good, but the thing is that a lot of these threats are almost negligible, and it slows down the computer and adds a lot more annoyance than making my computer secure. Norton does not have these popups and still have been able to keep my system secure until now.

Lastly, when uninstalling KAV, ask me to reboot again.

No more KAV for me

Thats because you didn't disable Proactive Defence. Just like Cyberhawk 1.2. Realplayer = Keylogger?! LOL.

Cheers!

Yes, I know I didn't Disable Proactive Defence, that's why a lot of pop-ups. Proactive defence is useful & is one of the most effective way to prevent virus. This is not a feature that I want to disable.
My point is, Symantec Antivirus's equivalence of Proactive Defence, even though enabled is not annoying & works as effective as well, which makes it more User Friendly.

Everytime I do something that causes the pop-up to come out, I have to add a rule. I have added up to 20-30 rules, but still there pop-ups. There are just too many rules to customize, and again, I have to say it's not User Friendly.
