Any modem router can flash firmware? for better network shaping n control.
I juz need ADSL 2/2+ modem router only, budget is below RM100.
shorlisted some brand n models:

D-Link 520B - new model seems like not bad, website said got QoS priority control, not sure good o not.
D-Link 520T - old model, not sure good o not

Linksys AM300 - heard it is not good, still considering

Zyxel Prestige P660R - previously owned, not bad
Zyxel Prestige series P660 series - Seems not bad too, but not sure wat model to get?

Any input guys? Prefer lost lasting n reliable one, network traffic control function needed.
Any other brand and models also welcome to recommend.

Guys,
i just wanna ask from your professional opinions or your experiences, between the following models:
1) Belkin N1 Wireless Router (F5D8231-AK4) - using atheros chipset
2) Buffalo WZR2-G300N N-finiti - using broadcom chipset

which one is faster, reliable, powerful, and better wifi range??? i hope you can provide your point of views with what you experienced, what you understand on the technical thingy and what you though in mind...which one you will buy??

from my view,
Belkin N1 Wireless Router (F5D8231-AK4)
cons: using atheros chipset wiht better compatible; branded & reliable (review from some forumers); N1 performance
pros: small antenna, expensive, no firmware update from web,

Buffalo WZR2-G300N N-finiti
cons: price is cheap;antenna is thick and big size;product & technology from japan, programmable broadcome chipset;500mhz processor
pros: N performance only; broadcom chipset (some compatible issue i heard from forumer)

about the range, anyone of you try before? if both model put together, which one the signal strength is stronger if in 300m away????

All please put your recommendation for a Wireless G Router suitable for Heavy BT sweat.gif

Meaning it must support MANY peers without hang/stall for 24/7

If you NOT SURE or just a FAN BOY please refrain from replything to this.... cool2.gif

This one really can get more range than my current belkin router? If linksys wrt54g Version 7 without firmware mod also better then belkin?

I wanna know that if i opt for wireless N router..would it really increase the range if compare to my current belkin router?

Or should i buy another wireless G router and put a 7dbi antenna on it since my belkin antenna cant be taken out..

Thanks

WRT54GL + tomato/dd-wrt + extra "modding cooling/heatsink + overclocking"

check the tomato/dd-wrt topic smile.gif

forget : i don't BT/P2P, above option are possible to handle the load, with good tweak.

all-in-one, great for low network load "surfing, download, streaming, gaming, mild p2p" smile.gif

i don't like all-in-one, they can't handle heavy of load "from BT/P2P"

premature failure, wireless problem, lock-up/hang too many connection & overheat easily sad.gif

if you intend sharing internet for gaming & BT/P2P. get router with QoS support**priority

my network preference (sharing internet)

modem + router with 4 LAN port

modem + wireless router with 4 LAN port

if you are single user, best connect modem direct 2 PC thumbup.gif
