i'm planning to buy a wifi adapter. i'll go for pci wireless G.
what's the best and reliable model? must support vista too. i'm interested in linksys but when i search for the drivers on the net, it's dated 2005. looks like linksys aren't focusing on the drivers and many people from the linksys froum are having difficulties using it on vista.dlink has to many negative user feedbacks. i'm not sure about belkin though. |

I'm planning to setting up wireless internet since the location of phone line that will be installed are quite far from the telephone pole, as well as the computer is inside the separate rooms.
I have aztech DSL 600E from previous streamyx acct left unused for about 3 years and not sure either it's still functioning or not. There are 2 laptops equipped with Wireless and one desktop which not yet equipped with wireless. Stuffs that I need to bought: 1 Wireless N USB dongle My Question; -Should I buy All in one (modem+router+wireless) or use old modem and buy router + wireless? -What type of router+wireless / modem+router+wireless you recommend? This would involve 24/7 downloading/browsing/streaming |

raining again,
I think you'll need an adapter if your motherboard doesn't have built-in wi-fi adapter. As for buying all-in-one modem router or separately, it's up to personal choice. From what I read here, Linksys wrt series and buffalo routers are good buy. This post has been edited by A2Z2U: Apr 4 2009, 11:12 PM |

Finally get myself a WHR-HP-G54-AP buffalo router after poisoning by guys from buffalo router thread.
Want to ask some questions. Is this model same as WHR-HP-G54 ( mine has -AP after G54)? I would like to flash it to tomato firmware. Wise or stupid choice? Any risk that I would brick the router during flashing? This post has been edited by A2Z2U: Apr 10 2009, 06:45 PM |
