Well if you change ISP, and the Backbone is also TM. No diffrence then, just stick to TM Net.

A small percentage of Penang users have the option to use Penang Fiber Optic Network (PenangFON) that is not on TMNet's backbone. And they have noted that speeds are pretty good. If you're anywhere else in M'sia, you might as well stick with TMNet.

Jaring (as I last recall) is still on TMNet's backbone, so speeds will be the same. Wireless companies like Maxis are unsuitable for heavy users.

Put it this way, we HAVE broadband. But on a scale of 1 to 100 where 100 is the best, our country ranks.. say 25? Slow broadband is better than NO broadband, right?

Well, there are rumors about 7-10 new ISP's will be competing next year . And the backbones won't be TM. Let's hope it's true.

To be fair, we do have usable broadband for light users (people that skype, IM, surf, chat, etc.) that don't use heavy P2P. On the other hand, TMNut still deserves a 25 score because of the frequent outages for ALL users.

what I can say, ask someone expert in software/network programming, to design a new protocol engine software like BT to bypass the old throttled system.

Do agree if Tmnet get its competitor... thumbup.gif !! as for the rumours, we can only listen flex.gif but to believe it is whenever we see it with our eyes or feel the changes.

Lets us CROSS our finger for the rumours to become true.
