If say you want to use another different firmware other than the 'recommended' malaysian one, which one would most be compatible?

thanks a lot dj2004. my firmware is updated so I don't need to flash it. Luckily I ask beforehand, lol. I guess everyone who's getting the modem now should receive the latest firmware.

Because the modem is already equipped with the old firmware of 2005. I already downloaded the latest M'sian firmware and installing it immediately after setting up my DLINK.

'best' is very subjective, it all depends on what you need from the router.

anyway guys, i've got an issue.

does the router support mixed IP? as in static and DHCP.

I tried setting up my LAN using static IP but i can't seem to go online but when I switch it back to DHCP, then it works. Ihave DHCP turned on in the router.

What do I need to do to make this work?

^^ Her lappie is near my router.

Now that I've set up WEP and she keys it in; it is connected (both wired and wireless) yet the connection does not allow her to open up web pages (Mozilla or IE Explorer)

I think you can only choose one - either DHCP (automatic asssign IPs) or static (manually setup all your IP addresses). Why you want to enable DHCP in your router?

Check whether default gateway in your TCP/IP setting is correctly set to the IP of your router modem.

The question I asked before I wanted to buy wireless router last time. The answer is no - there is no limit of wireless connection to your wireless router (as far as I know).
