I used to use this modem 24/7 until a fateful day when lightning strike and it damage it. Yes, even with Voltage Regulator.

Hmm, I'm thinking of getting 2640 for the QoS feature as I'm currently using DI-524 as my main wireless router. Reading thru, there's a mixed feedback from you all.

I wonder if there's alternative choice for QoS or not. Checked Level 1 wireless router with QoS but I think the QoS is not that flexible enough.

I tried to flash my firmware and the modem hanged. Now i'm stuck with a bricked modem. Is there a way i can restore the firmware as i have tried pushing the reset button and it didn't work.

I went back to the distributor and they wanted to charge RM80 which i rather top up and buy a new modem.

So i hope there's a way for me to un-brick this modem.

2640T user here

Want to ask whether this hardware can limit the access of internet to certain IP or not ?

For example i want PC 192.168.1.1 to be able to online... after the end of day... i remove the online access for the PC of that IP.

Can i do that in the Modem itself ?

Anyone flashed the G604T with the Singapore V2 firmware? I wanted to flash the G624T V3 firmware from G604T V1 firmware from the web interface but it was rejected by the modem. The instruction from here http://vudentz.blogspot.com/2008/05/dlink-...t-firmware.html seems to work for V2 firmware.

Router: DSL-2640T
Router Firmware Version : V3.02B01T01.EU-A.20080125
Wireless Adaptor: DWL-120+
OS: Windows XP sp3

Hi guys. I bought myself 2640T last week after my old aztech wireless router get hit by lightning. cry.gif
I am using wireless connection, but my connection to the router always went dead after few mins/hrs of usage, my pc will get automatic private ip address.
Whenever this happen, I can't refresh the ip address and I can't ping to the default gateway.
The connection always comes back after I reboot my pc. (without reboot router)

My sis is using wire connection, there is no problem for her.

I tried a few steps to solve this problem, but still no good:
- upgrade to latest router firmware : V3.02B01T01.EU-A.20080125 (got newer one?)
- set static ip address on my pc
- tried diff wireless channels
- disable WEP
- format my pc (lol, i ran out of ideas wat to do)

I think there is something wrong with router configuration. Anyone can help me on this? Thanks in advance. notworthy.gif
