Ok, i own an Intel Mac (Tiger 10.4.4) and i want to dual boot Linux on it. I'm not entirely sure if Boot Camp would work fine as i've received mixed feedback from other users. Some explanation and clarification would be much appreciated. I'm planning to get Ubuntu smile.gif

nope.. i meant make the os hybrid..
it's known as safest system in the world.. it was really amazing..
i read it from chip megazine last year..

You either dual boot or you can run it in Parallel VM.

I recommend dual boot with rEFIt because it's much faster & you can have desktop effects which is not possible in Parallel.

I've never heard of a hybrid, but it's possible to install X.org in MacOS X and run most X apps in it, if that's what u r talking about.

Dunno which 1 of Linux version should I approach, I have both Red Hat 9 & Fedora Core 1 DVD installer, but both also trouble me to install internet connection & others driver.

My suggestion is either one of this (if it's your first time venturing into GNU/Linux):

1. Ubuntu Linux

2. Linux Mint

3. openSUSE

Most of your proprietary hardware drivers and multimedia codecs will work out-of-the-box with the above distros. Same goes with your local network and internet connection. Information of the package contents and screenshots can be found here:
