I writing this thread after I've felt so "cheated" by TMNET. I just installed streamyx for a month (1mb RM99 package). My true intention was to torrent and p2p all the way ( I know many of you guys are on the same boat with me on this). Lets face it, if we want to just plain surf, we can go for dial up or go to the nearest CyberCafe's right?. With all these shaping and throttling fuss that completely wrecked my torrenting frenzy, I'm dead disappointed and furiously pissed off!!! vmad.gif vmad.gif

Now I just want to cancel my subscribtion but I can' t do that since the terms only allows me to unsubscribe after a year (what a "clever" money making scheme). So I'm going kamikaze on this. I WONT, I repeat, I WONT pay even a penny for their upcoming bills. Que sera, sera!! They want to disconnect me, well fine! Go ahead! Why must I pay almost RM100 just to get a dial up speed torrenting??

So let us all, who felt exactly the same as me, just ignore their bills. Let see how TMNET will react to that. I'm sure it will hurt them where it hurts the most, their wallet!! Let them realize the power in our hands was never meant to be toy with!.

DO NOT PAY YOUR TMNET BILLS.
DO NOT PAY YOUR TMNET BILLS.
DO NOT PAY YOUR TMNET BILLS.

I understand the threadstarter's feelings. But I don't think that would be a wise idea to ignore the bills. You should terminate your account properly or else the monthly subscription will continue to build up and lastly, you'll owe them thousands. You wouldn't want to receive a letter from their solicitor.

i feel u man....i dig it...
but, as newly registered user, its not a wise decision...
all i can suggest to u is to directly complain to them over the counter....
complain about the speed, complain that u cant video stream...
also complain that u cant play online games or even download legal mp3s...
just describe the legit excuses....do not even mention p2p, as they would only smile back at, grinning even more...
then as them for options...see what can they offer you....
if they enquire u regarding their tmspeedometer...just tell them what u get...
if they say that ur connection is fine, ask why the services that u want to use, gave u dissapointing result...
also include by saying that streamyx say this one can, that one can, but why cant when u want to use it...
remember, dont even mention p2p....
if u mention that, they'll gonna throttle including you....

even if we all cooperate (not payin bill or terminate account) , i doubt we could hurt tmnet much. at most, there maybe <1-2 hundred member (here) who might take action, not enough to defeat giant monopoly tmnet. tmnet owns us.

btw, tmnet will not sue for few hundred RM ler. They just terminate a/c

Yup. Forgot to mentioned that I can't get a proper connection to a server to play online games. Even my direct downloads also screwed up even with a download accelerator. Arghhh dammmitt!! Really regrets 1000x my decision to install streamyx in the first place.

Anyway thanks for the info.

if most ppl just complain on gaming latency, and legal direct downlaods, they may have more reasons in their way to fully block the p2p protocol

actually you can get away with paying a fraction of your bill without them turning it off, - i can't remember. next person who gets tmnet billion on the line, ask them the minimum payment you can make without having service turned off.

Wouldnt you get charged additional RM10 for each reconnection?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

BTW not wise for you, a new users to not pay your bills.

They'll just continue charging you until the 12 months is up, which is RM1188 (99*12)

You'll end up owing them RM1188, in addition to gettting your account barred from access during the second month.

If you really dislike the service, so terminate it.

TMpoint should can help you, just give an excuse like you're shifting out and the new area got no phone line.
