If you have budget, go for MSI GT series, at least you can upgrade your hardware when you feel your laptop is outdated.

GE's graphics card is soldered on the motherboard and you will have to replace the whole laptop when your laptop is outdated.

So, which is more "save" in terms of money? tongue.gif

Modular design is always cheaper to repair and upgrade if compare with All-in-one design.

Haha... is true about the cost, if every time user want to be in "top of the line" like upgrade GC as soon as the new GC release.

But I still think is cheaper than buy a new laptop. tongue.gif

Yea.. indeed the repair cost is cheaper..
But I still in doubt whether a old model laptop cooling system still can support a new high end gc.. haha
Just my one sense lar..

Not really. Asus have a Alien shape MXM profile. Althought their card is MXM, but normal MXM can't fit in their laptop.
The rest is same. As long as MXM III Type B, they are same. Nowadays MXM III Type B is most common.

Old days like Acer (8 years ago), they use MXM II even in low end laptop. That time I bought a Acer 4710G, Self upgrade AMD HD2400m->Nvidia 8600m GS->AMD HD3650m

Which PC got a lot of problem on the GC size?

I see..
When building RIG, a lot ppl didn't measure their casing size and the gc size.. cause PC gc got a lot of variant.. Reference and non reference.. non reference got a lot and all different in size.. and also not all mobo can fit in the card you want.. so measurement in building PC is very crucial.. lol

The point is to have 1 point PC for mobility and gaming on the go, and futureproof gaming at home.

Those who don't mind using different PC can stick with a separate laptop and desktop.

instead of getting the dock (Alienware/ MSI), you can archive the same with better upgradability future proof/ performance spending that same amount on a desktop as you wont be carrying the dock around as the other laptop components still have limitations

Is the Graphic Amplifier compatible with other than the latest Alienware? Or a better a question, will it stay?

Again, like I said, if you don't mind having two sets of PC, then get a desktop and a laptop, but if you do mind, you can opt for the graphic amplifier and a laptop.

I don't think so, coz it requires a special connector only available on the new ones.

Will it stay?
I don't get that part.
