actually i hav tested Celcom 3.5GX.............. damn fast ( abt 600 ~ 1200 kbps depending on location which hav 3G) but i am looking at a better data offer fr celcom , esp now pc fair is in progress. for the benefit of your doubts, i wil be using a moto V3XX for the modem and and i am looking at the data sim package which currently being offered by celcom at their centre for rm120/mth for unlimited usage..........no nid to buy any data card, the v3xx is good enough and its cheap ( rm600 for a new AP set wif one year warranty)

the ideal spec

Data GPRS Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 - 48 kbps
HSCSD No
EDGE Class 10, 236.8 kbps
3G HSDPA 3.6 Mbps
WLAN No
Bluetooth Yes, v2.0
Infrared port No
USB Yes, miniUSB

V3XX

I went to PC fair to apply for this Maxis broadband and they told me Maxis do not allow those staying above the 5th floor in apartments to register. I was like wtf. Instead of improving their service, they go and put a limit on their potential users? Wow maxis you are so clever. Some more dare tell me that they are doing this to prevent users from complaining about their bad service. "Duwan give u service, so u cannot complain if servis no good" Hahahhaha maxis you amuse me. I'm sorry for flaming the maxis agent but I couldn't help myself at the time. Pls Maxis improve your service and policy or just stop all your broadband business nia la. mad.gif

If you stay in an apartment try to ask if there is any broadband by some condo ISP. I am using Mykris at RM88/month and the speed is good for both surfing and BT. I believe it is much much much better than any of these. flex.gif

No there are private ISP provider. The one i subscribe to is called Mykris and they are doing Cooperate broadband service as well. I believe these private ISP will concentrate on condos and apartments as they can just set up a station and pull down the lines from the condo riser and connect to individual units. It only works with condo in economic sense.

As fas as i know, the is no 3G limitation. I also had asking about this at the maxis counter at their service centre @KLCC, she said that there is no limitation. I ask back that it stated in term and condition, she said no.. there is no limitation.

5.3 Excessive Usage
5.3.1 Each customer's total usage per month shall NOT exceed 3GB of data volume transmitted (total upload and download usage). This is to ensure that no individual hogs the bandwidth at all times.
5.3.2 If a customer wishes to use more than the volume permitted, a written request should be made to Maxis.
5.3.3 Maxis reserves the right to reject the said application or charge for any additional data volume transmitted from what is already allocated.

This is the term. Are you sure there is no 3GB limitation
