Most probably, we can buy original dvds from you this way. drool.gif It's not that I hate paying taxes but I hate the customs for simply taxing me. Felt like I got cheated. vmad.gif mad.gif vmad.gif You know what I mean. wink.gif

FYI.  I am in US and have sent several DVDs packages to relatives and friends in Malaysia using regular US Postal Airmail.  I've marked as Gifts and I have included receipts as well (for which I have already paid local GST where it came from).  None of them are taxed what so ever. All my items are under US$100. Hopefully, this info helps!

hey guys...i am planning to order a jap song cd from yes asia, the cost of the cd is around rm35, erm will customs stop my cd? and yea there is 2 way of sending the cd provided by yes asia, express and standard? which is the better 1?, erm i mean is standard is like pos laju and express is like dhl or fed-ex?

i haven't bought anything online for quite sometime already so kinda blur on this customs and postage thingy thanks for helping

Erm btw i think yes asia's shipping is pretty expensive the shipping and handling fees that they charge for my cd (10 US) is around 7US, add up already 17 dollar which is around 68 ringgit. I juz checked play-asia, they offer me free for economy air bubble shipping, erm is it safe enough?

Hi guys...does it means DVDs from overseas are cheaper than Malaysia? I thought out DVDs are getting cheaper now? I mean GENUINE DVDs. I hope I am not missing any points here.

Titles like Final destination, Keeping mum, the banquet only RM12.90....

For Korean/Japanese series on DVD - Coolwin Video seems to be good. I just placed my first order there.

To be frank, yes it is cheaper than buying Region 1 dvds sold in Malaysia, Speedy Videos are still selling RM139.90 but if you order from US, 6 Region 1 dvds with DHL shipping, the price for each dvd is averagely around RM50 to RM60 (normal single or double disc movies, excluding boxsets). If you're buying Region 3 dvds from Speedy Videos, those priced around RM30 to RM70 the most, they the same as Region 1 in terms of contents minus the Region 1 packaging. For those dvds, the price is fine and best of all, they're not censored, the folks in Speedy Videos told me I could change for another title if it is censored but honestly, they're not censored, 100% intact. rclxms.gif

As for audio cds, not to worry, they're easier to go through customs than dvds, I ordered 10 SACDs from Hong Kong before and they all arrived without being taxed. I just declared them as birthday gift with the invoice inside of course. tongue.gif

We buy online because we're sick of censorship and ugly packaging and that lame Perakuan B sticker on the back. Nuff said.

the thing that i hate most with local copies is the quality, somehow the original local (malaysian) version of the same movie is 90% of the grain quality compared to the JP/US version.

censorship is one thing, but it boggles me why on earth are they selling original version that smells like a durian (if you know what i mean).

ps:/amazon boxset animes are nice.. but www.animenation.com is cheaper. anyone ordered from there before?

play-asia air bubble shipping is quite safe, i ordered my superman ultimate collection and it arrive in perfect condition using free economy air bubble shipping. usually i just use free shipping, they take longer to arrive (usually bout 5 working days from shipping date) so i am ok with it

I have not dare to buy those local cheap titles. So the quality is not as good as those pressed from US/JP? Can anyone else confirm it?
Are those cheap titles ( RM20 - RM50) double layer too?
The most recent DVD I bought locally is Pirates of the Carribean 2, 2 disc box.
RM79.90, the picture quality is ok.

Recently I ordered Black Hawk Down Extended Version and Tears of the Sun Director's Cut for Yesasia. Shipped on 9th, still haven't received them.
