If I can get it before the end of the month, I'll be more than happy. Although I'm sure it'll scorch and melt my plastic too.

Edited my earlier post to exclude the HF 200 and include the HF 21.

Ok so I'll forget Panasonics altogether sad.gif

Showdown between Canon and Sony!

i think sony is good, but the price is uber expensive...
for me, i prefer panasonic than canon... panasonic is using the standard shoes... easier to find accessories...

ronaldkwok, is the zoom pressure-sensitive? cuz it doesn't seem that way.
oh and i wanted to get the sony xr520v recently, but then my car gearbox broke down, and i had to use that money for that.
and to think the gearbox costs the same as the cam!!!!  doh.gif  doh.gif  doh.gif

ya, the zoom is pressure-sensitive; the harder you press the faster it goes, if that is what you mean.
About your gear box, tough luck, what to do? Such things do happen. sad.gif

it too late coz they are super efficient. i placed the order no early morning of 8th Oct and at noon i received a call from them to reconfirm shipping address. on the 9th i received email for shipment tracking code and on the 10th already at KLIA. received the parcel on monday 12th. unbelievable... highly reccommended.

on tax wise there nothing happened as the custum invoice is USD85. however, camera has no tax.

as of battery, when i lost my HD1010, i have 2 extra compatible battery and a charger which i bought in china in my briefcase as well. our battery is compatible with kodak KLIC 5001 and someone is selling in lelong around rm 45 with shipping.

http://list.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/List.as...itButton=Search

i bought from china rm25 per battery and rm 20 for charger- if u dare to use "china" stuff. anyway i travel there frequently and i will be buying extra bat and charger, if u want to i can get for you. but only next month.

What was your experience with these "china" battery? I suppose sometimes is your luck. That Kodak battery at lelong also probably china stuff. I'll let you know if I need you to buy for me, thanks for the offer. Also thanks for sharing on warehouse123; at least feel safer if want to deal with them in future. thumbup.gif

BTW, do you find any noticeable improvement in the HD2000 over the HD1010?

Yea, if I get a Canon, then have to find stores that sell accessories for their shoes. But the reason I said I don't want Panasonic is because I heard about their after-sales service in the digital camcorder section, very bad.

for cheapo china bat and charger, rule number 1- do not charge overnight coz some charger do not have auto cut-off when the bat is full. so far i'm happy with the cheapo batteries.

well i did not do a thorough comparo ye for 1010 n 2000. general feels like same only....

i hv bought 2 additional "3rd-party" battery + charger frm ebay a yr ago (aug 2008), they are cheap & surprisingly reliable too, so far so good. apart frm this, i hv bought HOYA uv-filter (40.5mm) acting as a protection, so u hv no worry of scratching your lens; i'm using LENSPEN for lens cleaning, believe me, u should get one as it is very convenience & efficient. i hv bought 0.45x wide-angle filter frm ebay too, u will luv this once u hv tried i assure u thumbup.gif

edit: info added for your reference
UV-filter for 40.5mm is rather rare, searched for so many places and lastly managed to get frm:
http://www.lelong.com.my/merchant/digitalsmania.htm

0.45x wide angle i ordered frm ebay, just get this item, do no bother about others (telephoto, PL...)
http://cgi.ebay.com/40-5mm-0-45X-Wide-Lens...=item2ea8c09e35

u can get LENSPEN frm shashinki, remember to get LENSPEN STANDARD, the tip suits the size just nice

Hello,
I just bought a Sony Handycam DCR SX-40E. It's small and handy. The best part, I can directly edit it in Windows Movie Maker. I just love it!

Hey bros

Just a quick question. Can someone recommend me a HD camcoder which has input/output.

What I want to do is record video straightaway from a TV/monitor through cables in HD. I need it for medical purposes.

Any recommendation?

Thanks for all the tips. notworthy.gif I bought my 40.5mm UV filter from Miami Camera Warehouse sale, happens to be Kenko brand!

Well, to brighten up this thread, here's a colourful clip to show the 1Malaysia spirit and also to show the indoor lighting capability of the HD2000.
