Ok, go to start -> run, type in services.msc, look for windows audio, change startup type to Automatic, and click Start button if the service is stopped.

Go to the recovery tab, change all the options to Restart the Service (all three of them), the popup won't show again, and you have sound back smile.gif, at least until you reboot.

Comment: both stable since 9am after enable windows firewall

2 pc's on router.
Operating System: Windows XP Pro with SP2
Firewall: none
modem: Router
p2p: running max
Comment: none problem & no pop up at all

1 pc (office) direct connections.
Operating System: Windows XP Pro with SP2
Firewall: default Windows XP - ON
modem: Aztech 900eb2
p2p: running max
Comment: edited - ok it is working with enable firewall too. earlier thought it stalled when I couldn't vpn back, i just pressed wrong pass.

So, all are fine now with Firewall ON. your bting won't slow if got the port open in firewall.

That's strange though...I have Windows Firewall turned off, but I'm running Steganos Personal Firewall 2006...why doesn't it help, I mean, they're both firewalls right?

Faced the same problem before, I have formatted my comp in vain. Then i download fix from Microsoft website, open firewall and update my antivirus. Apparently opening your firewall did the trick.

Hi all,

Guess i'm not alone, i facing the same problem as you guys also. i was on 1 month holiday until yesterday when i came back from the trip.

The nightmare started yesterday.... i was surfing the internet awhile only and this annoying icon started pop up non stop! alright i did found a trick to stop it just move the icon to any of the corner and leave it alone(a bro did mention it here). But it won't help much unless you are surfing net and you dont mind it, for pple who are playing online game is really a pain in da @$$.

I do hope people here can find a way to stop it.

please update here.

Thankyou

hmm.. that method of moving it to a side does not help.
i can stay online for a while more
then, 2 more error msg pop out.. and another svchost error
then connection will be disconnected
