I have been checking the webs...seems like Diskeeper and O&O gets lots of award. But UltimateDefrag and Iobit gets hackers' recommendations at hackers' sites. Oh well, to each, his/her own...

I guess I should try the trial versions...Thanks peeps! biggrin.gif

and uses very minimal cpu usage.

diskeeper for me.
Diskeeper 2007 is a software solution like no other. Using a brand new technology called InvisiTasking, Diskeeper 2007 is able to do what has never been done before - defrag the hard drive on the fly in real time and eliminate fragmentation as it occurs (click here for more info on fragmentation).
*

can the defragmentation on the fly kill the hard disk faster? the hard disk will be very tired if the drive alwiz defragmenting...

I use Raxco Perfectdisk. Used to be a long time supporter of Diskkeeper, but it was hogging too much resources for my liking. Perfectdisk was less resource hogging, and did the job equally well. Highly recommended.

Diskeeper is resource hogging? Never really check the resource consumption of Diskeeper but as far as the performance is concerned, I never encounter any lag.

Been using it for 2 years already and I like the Set it and forget it function smile.gif

It lags for me, I don't know. Surprisingly, Perfectdisk does not lag for me though. LOL. :-)
