Hey guys,

I would like to share a superb application with you , that controls your Home Network. Pretty much it tells you , who are connected [Which PCs , along with their specs] and it could even detect intruders. Apart from that it helps you to set up File Sharing andPrinter sharing services. Its much more better then Windows XP Standard thingy. It fixes all the permisson problem and you could even 'Share' Files over the Internet. So it does not matter where you are . With plugins you could even monitor bandwidth in real time...Its pretty neat

I am still looking for similar product. The beauty of this software is that its semi-freeware.

what does it mean by *semi* freeware?

if it's totally freeware w/o all those spyware and trojan binges, i'd love to give this a try - not that i am lacking in network knowledge, but it must be fun to be able to monitor byte per byte usage for each PC in my home network

Coz it bundle some trial functions in the free version of the software which will expire after 30 days if you did not upgrade the software. Anyway, the main functions of the software will not be affected.

i'm using a new D-Link DIR-655 router.

I just installed this client on both my pcs, and it automaticly worked after i reboot my pcs.

Sharing printer and folders was SO SO EASY !! Puts Microsofts network setup to shame ( i'm using vista 64 bit ultimate by the way ).

The interface looks great and it tells you all sorts of alerts with problems on your network ! It also handles wireless although i haven't tested that feature yet.

A few things that may not be as great though is the internet speed tester. I mean if your not from Us how effective is running a test with a Us server going to be when your in Malaysia ? Isn't the proper internet speed test done by testing with local servers in the same country ? They should work on more mirrors like the popular speedtest site has.

Another thing was that for me i noticed some slight delay when transfering files to another folder over the network. What is the deal there ? Just a minor thing i noticed =_=;

Also i think when they do a network test they should also have an option to show detailed results such as wan > lan , Lan > wan, Maximum Simulatenous connections, maximum throughput ....

over all i give this software a 4.5/5 rating.

You cannot go wrong using this for easily setting up your network :]

You know, I tried this product and its really cool for a network-donkey like myself. I dont even have to set my WORKGROUP but it all connects. Awesome and thanks for the recommendation!

By the way, this also work well with Virtual PCs.
