not really
as long as the port that you put is not used by other application
then it wont affect your download

I'm using BitComet v0.70 and it's very stable except that my download speed is reduced to a pathetic 1kb/s or max of 5kb/s.....and my upload rate isn't any better except a bit higher than my download rate. Can someone tell me how to adjust my preferences to the best or point me to somewhere on this forum where that info is available?

One thing I'm dowloading now has 5/14 (seeds/peers). Is that so bad as to getting a super-sucky low download rate?

juz 5/14 you have connected...
almost same in my every task in BitComet, where it wont connect more than 50 peer in every task
and i think it is becoz of the stupid tmnuts have did something about it that become like this

if you aledi done port forward in your router (if you connect using Routing mode)
and aledi enable DHT network
then nothing else more can do...

you can try go to Broadband User-2-User broad to check the way to go through throttle
but i think not all the way are free...

anyone BT using Jaring Wireless Broadband on Bitcomet?

Really wish that Bitcomet truly make some improvement instead of more problem over their latest version. I assume they are really running out of numbers as they are very near to v1.0 sweat.gif

usually whenever there is a release i would go to the BitComet website to check the stable release as last time i was using 0.70 and whenever 0.7x came out, 0.70 would still be the stable release.

When 0.80 came out, the 0.70 stable release was gone so i assumed this would be stable, but dang, now i cant change back. T_T
