I've got a normal Aztech Modem Router with another Buffalo WHR-G125 Wireless Router. Can I know what is the best way to set up the whole system, can I use bridge mode. The modem act as modem, and the Buffalo use for wireless and router purposes, and how to do it? Thanks

Yes you can.
First, you have to access your modem router configuration page and set your modem router into a Modem mode or Bridged mode.
Then access your Buffalo wireless router configuration page and setup your internet login, router DHCP as well as your wireless configuration there.
Hope that helps

Both network must be in same workgroup. If not still can share but need to use direct address such as \\<computer name>.

At DB102 modem set it as bridge or just left default.

At wireless router should have PPPOE selected and fill in your username and password there.

Nope. This also can be done as long as you can use the internet connection. If your internet connection down, try swap it back. DB modem will be bridge then router will be PPPOE.

My dsl600E modem is set to PPPOE with user name and password to auto connect to streammyx. But if i disable DHCP in my wireless router, i cannot connect to internet. Once i enable DHCP in wireless router, I can go internet.

Does this mean that both my modem and router are enable DHCP ?

Hi all gurus and sifus,

I have a little problem, and seeking help here.

Ok, currently, I'm using Linksys WAG200G as modem/router for my 2 PC's connection, one using cable and the other uses wireless.

My standard modem setting is as below;
Encapsulation : RFC2516 PPPoE
Multiplexing : LLC
QoS : UBR
VPI : 0
VCI : 35
DHCP : On
NAT : On
and with streamyx 1mbits package username + password.

with above setting, I got connection to internet, but both of PC's have SAME WAN IP.

What I wanna do, and know, is ;

How to make my 2 PC's have different WAN IP, with just 1 single streamyx account?

I tried configuring the modem in lots of way ..
1.disable DHCP, and then set each PC with manual IP = cannot connect with manual dialer
2.disable DHCP and NAT, and then set each PC with manual IP = cannot connect with manual dialer
3.disable NAT, and then set each PC with manual IP = cannot connect with manual dialer
4.change encapsulation mode to : RFC 1483 Bridged, RFC 1483 Routed, Bridge Mode Only = cannot connect with manual dialer, but in Bridge Mode Only, only 1 PC get connection at one time.
5.change Multiplexing mode to VC (Virtual Circuit) = cannot connect with manual dialer

the error code varies of Code 678, 691 and 692 (Windows XP Pro).

Please assist.
Care to shout me if the above info didn't help.

Thank you.

hi,
I hv a dlink di-524 wireless router and a billion modem/router.
I've tried setting up it as Billion being the modem and dlink as router/dhcp enable (ppoe always connected and dialing thru dlink). But since i starting to download large amount of files, the setup has become unstable. it keep on disconnection and i cannot resume as the ip is changed everytime it disconnected.

So, i tried a soulution i read a few page before - billion being my modem/router(dhcp/nat enable) and and dlink as my "wireless switch"(off dhcp/nat).

q, is will it be a problem or is there a better and stable setup?
