Which album??? I only liked two songs from them... "Somewhere out there" and "Innocent"... Their most recent one (which was also some time ago adi) was not nice, very mediocre and boring...

Dashboard... Dashboard.... when are u releasing it?

Recommendation: Cute Is What We Aim For
Album : The Same Old Blood Rush With A New Touch
Genre: Emo, Pop, Rock
They Sound Like: Saves The Day
Release Date: 2006
Rating: 8/10

I've never heard to these guys before today. The first thing that hit me was their sound. If I was listening to this on radio, I would have guess that is new material from Saves The Day.

True to Saves The Day's style, they sound pop-ish and mellow with a tinge of emo; the kind of genre that critics like to bash. The songs are all very catchy and has an uplifting effect.

As of this time, I have only listen through the album once. It will grow on me with subsequent listens. I might have here one of the contenders for release of the year for on Emo, Pop, Rock category. With the recent dissapointing release from Saves The Day, Cute Is What We Aim For may have just saved the day smile.gif Definately recommended.

emo/punk/hxc/goth aint rock wei, they are all from the punk genre.

on another note, looking at your music tastes most of them are pretty main stream....let me recommend some

porcupine tree - alternative, progressive, named to be the floyd of today
explosions in the sky - post rock, instrumental, relaxed fell to their music.

and some classic rock...

king crimson - in the court of the crimson king ( take this abulm only)

look these up mates

Dude, what are you talking about ? Punk itself is a sub-genre of rock. Emo, punk, metal, death, goth are all sub-genres and by classifying bands to sub-genres gives people a better description of their style and sound.

Just because bands are mainstream doesn't make the less of a rock band and just because people like mainstream rock doesn't make them less of a rock fan. I have had my share of raw underground sounds in my time. Now these old ears of mine are more comfortable with polished sounds. Thanks for the recommendations though. Will check them out if I got the chance. King Crimson is not my cup of tea though.
