did u set streamyx DNS ip address manually ?
or did you set it automatically to get ip address from the dhcp pool?

first, can u describe ur network eq: ur modem, router? IP of those devices, how many pc connected to the network? wat's their ip

secondly, from the msg i read on ur pc. the dhcp pool has denied the addres 192.168.x.2. so u wont able to use tat ip since it don allowed.

but something is weird that, the dhcp pool should not hang ur pc, wat u means by hang? blue screen? cant move at all? or juz the LAN cannot connect?

i suggest that u turn off the DHCP function in the router then assigned the IP urself, make sure each pc don conflict.

if still cannot, can u make sure ur network card is working properlly? u can test by doing a continuos ping to any node which are connected by typing "ping x.x.x.x -t"
if it reply smootly without request time out. it should be ok

so only me using the router modem..

i dunno y it hangs also.. only when i start any BT client.. ANY.. and it will hang my PC.. hang = cant move mouse.. cant move anything.. no blue screen..

so is BT client something to do with my IP? cuz if i dun start BT client it works fine.. wont hang even hours of surfing..

ya, damn funny ur case.
seems not reflect wat the msg u post. maybe its not the particular msg for this problem.

The BT client actually don care ur ip, it juz refer to the particular port. the router will care for ur ip. (correct me if im wrong) suppose ur windows should be ok, since u say u already reinstall.

u set ur router/modem as router mode or modem mode?

u can try using static ip first, if still same happend, better borrow a network card to check it out. no choice but step by step.

cant surf after setting to static ip?
shakehead.gif
wat brand of ur modem? u can go look for the manual on the net first.
then after setting to static, try to ping it.
for sure u need to be able to ping modem and DNS server b4 u can surf the net.

maybe like he said, the modem abit rosak cant handle something. coz bt creates alot of connections when using. but i wonder how will it affect ur pc until hang.

**** drool.gif ****
suddenlly got some idea why u cant surf...
did u set ur DNS server? if don, sure cant surf lar....
muz able to ping modem first.

If not mistake streamyx is dynamic ip not static ip so i don't think you need to set any static ip and your modem model i think it's Dlink 500-T.

as u can see, the ip show in the msg and wat we r talking bout is 192.168.1.1/24
this is the LAN (local area network) ip which use to connect with the internal device such as pcs or other nodes.

yes, streamyx home user package is using dynamic ip which assigned by tmnut, but that one is the WAN ip which connect the modem to the external network such as: 219.x.x.x or 60.x.x.x or ....etc.
these 2 are different segment which using for different purpose.

if the DHCP problem show in the msg is the particular msg with this case, tat means is the internal network address dhcp problem. not the external DHCP assigned by streamyx. the internal one is control by the modem, so u r able to set it urself either manually or let it be auto. smile.gif
