Hi,
Can someone please teach me how to port forward the 600ew? i tried www.portforward.com but i couldn't find help for this model.

I'm using utorrent and my avarage download speed is 8-15kb/s, upload is about 20kb/s more. I've patched my tcpip.sys. Will port forwarding improve the download speed? or is there any other tweaks i must do?

You definitely need port-forwarding if you use your modem as a router. No need if you use WinXP dialer.

Usually, the manual coming with your modem should has the instructions on how to do port-forwarding. As the instructions varies wildly between models and brands, you really have to as someone else who have the same modem as you or to download the manual from the manufacturer website.

***
Checking port 23142 on 60.48.66.164...

Error! Port 23142 does not appear to be open.

Please see www.portforward.com for more information about how to map a port.

Please make absolutely sure that PeerGuardian2 or Protowall is allowing utorrent.com (207.142.136.45) in either of those programs. Those of you using ipfilter.dat should make sure the list does not include the website's IP. After making sure of this, re-run this test by refreshing the page (F5

Yes, you will be able to get better speed faster with port-forwarding.

Everything seems alright, you might want to consider changing to another port because the default 6881-6889 isn't recommended afterall.

Try some random port > 10000 one

No need to put limit at Global Max Download. Just set it unlimited. And try to download the torrent with lots of seed first, to test the speed and correct the preferences settings to get the highest speed possible. Oh one more thing set the Maximum connection per task to 100. Happy torrenting smile.gif

If you want to use those ports, just change the port used for incoming connections to that in Preferences->Network. Protocol encryption can be enabled there as well.

Bitcomet is generally more aggresive than other clients so that may explain why you get faster speeds using it.

I heard from other expert that Bitspirit using the same logic core of Bitcomet old version. I used bitspirit before but for testing purpose only. And yes its almost as aggressive as Bitcomet but with more colorful GUI i guess smile.gif.

I'm not sure about Bitspirit, but Bitlord is

To me bitspirit is too complicated to configure and bloated

I think it is normal, my ADSL router has such "problem" too
But as long as the port is forwarded by either manually or uPNP, it will be alright
