spyware search&destroy v1.4 is no longer updated since year 2005. So they might not be able to clean the recent spywares.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
thanks.

It is not that the program can't clean new spyware. If you notice, spyware and adware "births" have greatly reduced. Of course there is no need to update the program, only the definition files. Phishing and Pharming is the current trend. LOL.

On the post by geforce1982, you can only utilize Active X if you are using IE. So, be careful when surfing using IE. It is known for all sorts of exploits, especially using Active X. Please watch out for BOGUS SITES.

This ad aware, good in protecting or destroying?
It seems when used to destroy Spy/Malware...it's not that good.
I did scan a few times...the spy/malware stayed there and did not go away.

I use both Ad-aware Personal Edition and Spybot S&D because some of them cannot detect certain spyware so need you'll need both software to ensure you're free from spyware.

L2m?

My god. Wait.

Please download Adaware SE and install it if you don't have it already. Make sure it's the newest version and check for any updates before running it. Go to this Site to get the plug-in for fixing VX2 variants. Also make sure to Customize the settings in Adaware for better scan results. Run the scan and fix everything that it finds.

Done a quick googling about Ahn Labs, seems like they have Security Response too...

http://info.ahnlab.com/securityinfo/virus_search_eng_new.jsp

Hmm, quite detailed. It looks interesting to try, too bad I'm not at home. sad.gif

They are backup copies. Look for an icon that looks like a "LOCK". Remove the files in there to remove Quarantined files. Cheers!

For Raikkonen's case, I think you should get CWS Shredder and Kill2Me to remove the CoolWebSearch and Look2Me malware. Good Luck!
