I dunno if you guys feel the same (not that I care anyway tongue.gif) but I do feel that if I spread the AS5 with my finger, it kinda performs better.

Like when i used it with the Ninja (the scythe ninja, is a b**** to fix, especially when I don't have the manual) I didn't get any better temps. It was at 37C, but when I used my finger to spread it around, it dropped an additional 2C immediatelly.

I'll see how it goes when it breaks up.

When i used the normal method, and removed the heatsink, the thermal paste didn't exactly spread to the entire heatsink and heatspreader. Jsut a small portion.

Well it has been said that using your finger is the best way. But you have to try it yourself to believe...... smile.gif

use something small and smooth to spread it around.. i usually use a nail (the metal things u use to hold to pieces of wood together), and use the sides to spread it.. not the best method, but works for me wink.gif

This is what I kena from the 6600GT last time. Everything was running at stock speeds. CPU stock speed. 6600GT oso stock speed. Yet it kept shutting down after bout 30-60 minutes of games. After I changed the heatsink on the 6600GT it was totally stable. I reckon it's ure GC overheating coz the 66GT runs really really hot. U can oso try a simple thing 1st to make sure. Open side panel n blow a fan straight at the 6600GT. If no more crashes then u know for sure. I tried a 120mm fan blowing at it n that solved the prob so I went n bought a new heatsink for the GC.

my gc quite hot oso, max 82c @ 570/1130 (msi).it affected my whole system oso, my mobo reached 52c doh.gif , after installed exhaust fan on top of my case, doing good now...

sometimes it might be the thermal paste in the processor pins that cause some short circuit...make sure you apply the thermal paste properly... brows.gif

now guys...finally solved the prob...guess wat...it's my PSU, even my psu has 2 x 12v rail, but it simply not enuf for my mobo that requires at least 20a on 12v rail.so, i bought 350w enermax (for testing purposes - assuming my PSU prob), this enermax has 26a on 12v (single), n it stable even after 24 hours doing prime, gaming, super pi.
thanks guys all of u... notworthy.gif
