I remember back when I was a kid, my mother had this musical box that I liked very much. Mom said that dad bought it for her when they were still dating so when I asked dad, he forgotten where he bought it from.

It's a musical box which has a man and a woman (the man dressed like a Musketeer) and the woman (has those umbrella-like dress like from olden English movies). When you turn the key, the song will play and they will dance inside the glassed musical box.

Anyone has seen anything like that or know where to buy it? Let me know. Want to get one for my girlfriend as random present. Thank you.

I have bought a new model kit that has soft vinyl parts included with it. This is officially my first time with this material, so can anyone with experience on models with soft vinyl parts care to elaborate?

And here's a pic from the manual, can anyone help clarify what's mentioned in Part 1 and 2? (sorry if the photo's too big, had to make sure it's readable )

i think the first part suggested that the part is soak in hot (boiled??) water and put some liquid detergent or dish washing liquid..this is to remove the mold released agent

normally, i will put into a hot water (but not boiled..) and put some Glo and leave for a few hours then rinse with warm water

part no 2 maybe suggested that the part is cut with modelling pliers or scissor and then trim with modelling knife

Oh, I see. I didn't know there was a thing like a mold release agent, is it frequent with model material like this? And is it because the agent will affect the effectiveness of paint/surfacer that's applied to the surface if unremoved?

molding release agent or substances always used to ease the parting process... normally this stuff is in wax/greasy form....and it's oily so that the part can easily remove from the mold.... with the thin layer of this agent, it's somehow reduce the adhensive properties of the part...worst of all, when u handle the part(s), your finger also will help further spreading the agent all over the other parts...

Penny, musical box I thought can get anywhere? Have you tried those gift shops (those selling soft toys, etc.) or maybe even shops like Memory Lane?
